Yep and Prior was bitching at him as he was rounding second.

His first homer that was off of Mark Prior has a classic Hawthorne screw up where he says he hit it to left field before correcting himself.

Hawpe's 2nd homer was smoked. That thing might still be going. Hawthrone made an awesome call on the second one.

"Long fly ball.. that's GONE"

Yeah, that ball I believe went completely out of the stadium. One of my favorite HRs ever TBH. Hawpe's swing was so beautiful to watch

I love how he stood the bat up on the plate after he hit it. That was an awesome day game. Good memories.

The power went out in Shenandoah right before the 2-0/2-1 Florida State game and we had to listen to the whole thing on the radio.

If Mark Prior was gonna be so mad he shouldn't have hung a piss poor offspeed pitch out to dry.

LSU beating the piss out of Texas in the opening game of the 2000 CWS is such an underrated game.

On a first rounder named Beau Hale. LSU beat several first round draft pick pitchers that year. Hale from Texas, Prior from USC, Wayne and the other guy from Stanford (Jason young, 2nd round)… am I missing anyone?

Stanford shut us down for most of the 2000 title game. We didn't do much of anything until the 8th inning. You may be thinking of us completely embarrassing Kyle Peterson in 1997. He was an AA and #13 overall pick that year making a start in his hometown on the biggest stage. It did not fare well for him.

Yea one of them had some Vulcan grip change up or screw ball that was nasty.

Peterson still has nightmares about LSU but he is a good sport when he calls our games.
