what other games hurt us? We are where we were predicted to be with a win (at least during Joes live updates in gmae)

LSU is in... Beating Arkie was the key... Don't care what they do in SEC tourney....

The RPI takes ALL Your games into account, which is why RPI can change from one day to the next even if you don't play.

When we beat Arkansas we immediately moved up from 52 to 47, then after another day of games, where we didn't play, our RPI went down to 50, therefore we moved up 5 spots after beating them but due to other games since have dropped back down 3 spots.

Ya im familiar with rprpi working as much as we can be without the formula but i thought you meant some team jumped us with a win. we are still where he predicted and a loss to similar rpi wont drop us any sig amount.

As long as we play am we are about where we will finish rpi wise

Alleva said 11 wins this year gets us in. He's involved with the committee, and that's the info he's taken from the talks.

That was before the season started. I think we get in, but let's not act like LSU made it easy. They should have been at 11 wins before the last game of the season.

Really? Lets assume A&M loses the next game after beating us.

LSU: 22-10, 11-7 in SEC conference play.
A&M; 22-11, 11-7 in SEC conference play.

A&M- 3-0 vs LSU, 2-1 in conference tourney.
LSU- 0-3 vs A&M, 0-1 in conference tourney.

I understand that A&M has beaten basically nobody else, and loses the comparison vs any other team. For example, I know nobody would put LSU ahead of Arkansas, just based on a 1-0 head-to-head... but we're talking THREE games, not 1 or even 2. That would be 3 wins vs no losses, and a good chance we're in direct competition with A&M for the same spot in the field.

I don't like those odds, and I sure wouldn't buy a ticket anywhere before we're officially announced.

This is huge in the committee's eyes. They care much more about the teams you can beat in the field of 64 not so much about the head-to-head record against a similar bubble team.

The negative trade-off for A&M is that if they beat us we'll most likely fall out of the top 50 RPI which gives them ZERO top 50 wins.

To sum things up, even if we lose to A&M we are in the dance.

I hope you're right if it comes to that.

I hope we don't have to find out if you are.

A 10 seed is perfect, I think we can do some damage in that slot. Don't like it being Wisconsin's side, though.

LSU has 12 wins against the current RPI top 100...what is so hard to understand we are a lock even if we lose on Friday?

LSU is also 2-1 against the top 25 RPI, with both wins coming on the road and the only loss by 2 points to undefeated Kentucky. No other bubble team has anything close to that on their resume.

There's not one team in the country that LSU couldn't play with. With that said, there's not anyone above .500 that couldn't play with LSU. This may be the most inconsistent team in the entire nation!

I disagree with this.

I believe TAMU is fighting with others to get in now, not LSU. If TAMU is getting in, they have to win in round 2, beat LSU and may even have to beat UK - or have other bubbles lose.

They would be able to use the "we beat LSU 3x card" to resume boost against someone else.

LSU is in because of their road wins @WVU, @ARK, @UM and home wins against UGA and UM. The 2 point loss to UK and eye-test doesn't hurt either.

Summary: LSU is entrenched IN now. A TAMU loss doesn't change that. TAMU is fighting to get themselves IN as the 6th SEC team at this point.

So true. I thought LSU had turned that corner - then this week happened.

I'm not complaining though, the win @ARK easily outweighs the loss v. Tenn.

Also, LSU has Top 50 RPI wins in Dec, Jan, 2x Feb and Mar.
