Another key to all this is UO, KST, & ND winning out, thus keeping UF out of the top 4. I'm not sold FSU can beat UF. They are just another overhyped ACC team.

Yes, we would play either OU or Notre Dame in the Fiesta (depends on if they take OU or Notre Dame to replace Kansas State ... if they take OU, Rose can snatch Notre Dame and LSU goes Fiesta...if Fiesta takes Notre Dame, Rose is going to snatch LSU)

The reason that the Rose is going to get a choice of either Notre Dame or LSU is to replace Oregon and there may be no other eligible Pac12 teams.

I think it is a pretty safe bet right now that LSU is probably going to the Rose or Fiesta Bowl...lots of things still to play out, but those are the two most likely landing spots for LSU as of right now.

If Florida wins out, none of that has an impact - even #5 Florida gets BCS at-large ahead of LSU as a 1-loss team that beat LSU.

naw...Notre Dame isn't falling to Sugar. Rose or Fiesta will take Notre Dame before the Sugar even has a pick.

Order of picks:
1. Replace #1 team lost to BCSCG (Fiesta replaces KState)
2. Replace #2 team lost to BCSCG (Rose replaces oregon)
3. Fiesta at-large vs replacement pick
4. Sugar at-large vs SEC champ
5. Orange at-large vs ACC champ

If Mett and the Tigers keep lighting up the scoreboard, I don't think this is automatic.

Florida doesn't travel well...even the advocate said its a possibility rose or fiesta takes LSU over a 1-loss Florida

That said, I want FSU to beat Florida and remove all doubt...FSU beating Florida takes Florida out of the discussion totally

I don't think UF would really be on the radar of the Rose and Fiesta. Their fans don't travel well outside of the state of FL.

Agreed...From an LSU perspective, though, we'd rather FSU to beat Florida and remove Florida from the talk all-together. IF Florida were to beat FSU, there are two risks:

#1...Florida sneaking into the Top4 and being an automatic BCS pick, therefore eliminating anyone in the SEC besides Bama-UGA winner

#2...Even if Florida doesn't get into Top4, you run the risk of Florida being in the Fiesta/Rose/Sugar discussion as a 1-loss team

Again, it would make things a lot easier for LSU if Florida State will just beat Florida and take the Gators out completely. Then LSU really has only one potential stumbling block to getting Rose/Fiesta: A&M-Fiesta ... and I don't think that's a big stumbling block considering LSU will be ranked higher and LSU beat A&M. Rose/Fiesta would take LSU over A&M and A&M would be completely content going to Cotton to face texas.

Remember those outback bowls that LSU got screwed out of by South Carolina?

No. Which ones? 2000 and 2008 were the only two years they went to the Outback while we went to a lesser one, and it's hard to argue that either was a screwing.

did either have one loss entering the game?

better comparison to this year would be UT in 2001 (slated for NC and lost to LSU - settled on Citrus I think)
LSU in 2005 going to Peach after losing to UGA in the SECCG

Good point. So if UF wins out, the only way they are not in the top 4 is if UO, KSU, and ND all win out (since the Bama/UGA winner will stay ahead of them). We probably do need them to lose.

That won't matter. If UF doesn't lose another game, they will get a BCS bid before we will regardless of whether they're in the top 4.

It would be taking the #6 team over the #5 team. You think one spot in the rankings is more important than selling tickets for these bowls?

I agree...LSU sells more tickets to a non-title sugar bowl than UF and the Sugar knows that.

Looking good for LSU ...if FSU can beat Florida, LSU is BCS-bound IMO.
