Anyone else have an insight into this mess that Les has created?

- 103 Wins in Ten Seasons
- 10.3 Wins per season average
- 1 National Title
- 26-2 Following a Loss
- 10-0 in Season Openers
- 47-9 on ESPN/ESPN2
- 7 Season of 10 wins or better

What mess? Oh that's right, we didn't win a Title every year. Gotcha.

Does anyone want to stop grading NCAA football coaches based on National Titles? Is it even fair to think we could have gone this season, with that young lineup? Really?

CLM prepares these kids for life and the NFL. He tries to win a National Title too and he gets close a few times (2012)

It is rare for any coach to win more than two National Titles so why expect it from LES MILES every season?

Coaches with at least 3 National Titles:

Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Bear Bryant
Bobby Bowden
Tom Osbourne
Bud Wilkinson
Knute Rockne

If Les Miles wins a Title either next year or the year after, then what happens? He retires?

Statistically, his odds of a 3rd are slim to none. Why do we always continue to expect a title out of this man? He will get us one, but not every season.

I don't care what he's done in the past. 5 losses in a season with our talent is inexcusable. We didn't have to lose 5 games last year; we could have won two of those games with better QB play. (And I'm not even talking about Arkansas.)

With no chance of a redshirt for BH, it is truly mind-boggling that he kept putting Jennings out there game after game without even giving Harris a series.

A good QB would help all of the high quality WR's on the team as well.

You're absolutely right and a freaking genius. When I look back at 2011, I think to myself if we only had a strong defense and a legit running game we'd have another BCS NC. We had everything we need under center that yea

To be fair, the oline got their shite pushed in. Even if you have a good qb, mariotta, you struggle if your oline struggles.

But with what we had under center, we still managed to beat every team we played. LSU played the hardest schedule in the history of the program.

Not really. I fault him for not having another qb on the roster. But not for keeping Harris on the bench. He obviously wasn't doing what he was asked to do. Didn't know the plays. Comes in against Kentucky with a huge lead and fricking shits the bed again. So we saw good play against scrubs and against state playing prevent on a couple of big plays. Any other team with a pulse, he was worse than Jennings.

You're grading the 2011 defense based on what they did during the season and you're grading the 2015 defense based on what they did before the season.

Not the same thing, "bro"

There was nothing from the 2010 defense that would have suggested what we saw in 2011.

Don't be such a bitch. LSU lost, but it was a two possession game until late in the fourth quarter. That sucks, but we arguably had the greatest regular season in the modern era with exactly what the OP said. Better QB play likely would've won that game for us, but you're whiny tone suggests that you have zero perspective on the whole of the season.

Totally agree. You must have a QB that can win the game if necessary in order to compete for championships. We have the opposite - QB play that cripples the offense.

What? Both of our qbs in 2011 posted higher qb ratings than Flynn in 07.

bullshite. It excusable when not one of your starting offensive skill position players have over 3 game started, in their entire collegiate career.

It's not as if Flynn ever went out and won games for us. His 2007 conference production was very pedestrian.

That's right, I'm being sarcastic. It's amazing on this board that people can make excuse after excuse as to why we haven't been able to close as a program. The 2011 team in my opinion was the greatest LSU team I've been lucky enough to see and it pisses me off to no end that Miles had to jack up the QB situation midseason and put a complete end to our offensive production. Last year was a complete embarrassment because of our lack of offense and specifically our shite qb play and instead of admitting to Miles' flawed approach to the game we start a thread that reads "you don't need good qb play to win it all". The same morons who fit into this category are the same that are calling the best qb from the state of LA in the last 10 years average at best bc he doesn't want to play for Miles. From your response, I know what category you fall into internet tough guy.

Our offense actually improved after Jefferson was inserted into the lineup until we ran into two Top 5 passing defenses. But don't let that stop the blind hate

Miles' flawed approach to the game

So an approach that has been successful for 100 years is suddenly flawed because of the 2014 LSU season?

he doesn't want to play for Miles.

Shea doesn't care if he plays for Freeze, Miles, or RichRod.. just wants to go where Sean goes.

You could have a generational defense too. I mean Trent Dilfer has a Super Bowl ring...

that was hilarious! good stuff.

so, you're telling me that Miles's "flawed approach" created the "greatest LSU team [you've] been lucky enough to see?" genius!

any more whiny rants to go along with those pearls of wisdom?
