He was my coach at Parkview. Had a tremendous impact on my life. Had several opportunities to see him before he passed and I never did.

Damn I hate to hear that.

He sold me (my father) my first pair of strength shoes in like 93'. I can still remember how special that moment was as a kid. He gave me a 15 minute lesson on how to use them to become faster and said to keep on training to become a better athlete. Crazy how memories fade only to be remembered 20+ years later.

RIP Boots

He was quite the character, and everybody loved him. His name would occasionally come up on the OT and never was a bad word said.

I was in Coach Garland's class in high school and he would have been all over your arse for that misspelled word.

That's the damn truth. You couldn't drive a ten-penny nail up his @ss after he finished with him.

The hardest I've ever been hit in my life was when Coach Garland punched me in the chest for looking down and not looking him in the eye when he was talking to me. (A coach would probably be arrested for that now.)

I sure never forgot that lesson. I always look someone in the eye when we are talking one-on-one.

Was at the Manning Passing Academy for the first two years and was terrified of Coach Garland! Man will be missed.

I remember watching him in the Pistol as well

RIP

He was a good friend of my dad's and taught me and my brothers perfect running form in high school with one-on-one workouts.

Great man. I got to work with him at Skip Bertman's Baseball Camp when I was 12 and 13. He taught us a lot.

"What's America's national pastime? Transferrial blame."

Skip thought the world of Boots.

He will be missed.

Had the pleasure of meeting him a few times. Seconds after meeting him the first time, he told me one of the funniest, crudest, most un-PC jokes I've ever heard. I laughed my arse off! RIP Boots!
