Then you're in favor of paying players? Cause they work harder and drive more revenue than most on this board. Men get paid fir their work.

He calls in to a show and is supposed to have a question and he pops off to the head coach of the football team trying to tell him how to run it. It was ridiculous. Sure one statement was truth but you don't tell the head coach of the #1 team in the country how to handle his players.

The caller did a long rant that said that LSU's program was out of control.
Did he mention major probation, JJ and now this?

Les said (paraphrase) -- You don't know what goes into the process, the calendar of events in the process, what we ask of the players, what we put all the players through. You just have an opinion and speak out of emotion. I don't have that luxury. I must act responsibly.

I entirely agree with this definition of his role. But the real question is, if he is fulfilling that role, why have we suffered two major disciplinayr snafus that have resulted in the suspension of four starters?

Ahh, that makes sense. You can understand Miles's speak. Maybe you can become his translator.

Because CLM and LSU doesn't lie about breaking rules. We deal with it and give forth the proper punishments.

Are you retarded? If you want these kids to be treated like men by holding them to a strict level of accountability, then you sure as he'll better consider paying them for the work they do and money they bring in.

Because our fans demand that we compete for national championships vs. being fricking lehigh.

Because LSU doesn't act like it is perfect, it is honest. It self reports, it disciplines itself so much so that the NCAA praises it.

Believe it or not, this is legit and LSU is on major probation right now resulting from a prior issue.

1) Probation
2) JJ/Bar
3) Shep/Oregon
4) The current reports

Doesn't mean program is out of control, but you can't whitewash EVERYTHING.

I agree he can't monitor them perpetually, much like parents can't watch their children in every moment of their lives. That's why it is so critical to imbue young people with proper discipline and intelligence, so that they make good decisions in those instances where they are are left to their own devices. Part of Miles job is to promote that discipline and intelligence in his players.

I think everyone can agree that it would have been best for this program not to lose Ware, Mathieu, and Simon as a result of failed drug tests. I think everyone can agree that it would have been best if those three had shown foresight and discipline by refraining from drug use. Unfortunately, that didn't happen.
