What has always held BR back is there are few restaurants and bars in close proximity to the stadium. I always enjoy it when you can bar crawl before going into the game.

Having an opinion is bannable?

"Doesn't agree Baton Rouge is a top ten college town. MUST BE A TROLL"

You don't need to because of the Tailgate culture at LSU. Not every campus is like that, and so you need to bar hop. At LSU you just bounce around and meet people.

You troll every thread with negatively trying to get people engaged. I'm not the only one who notices it.

Been to BR for 2 games.
Some of the best tailgating.
For on campus tailgating I haven't seen better.

For parking lot type tailgating I go with Penn State and Michigan (golf course).

The Grove is a whole nother category also.

For bar hopping it's Madison. I assume Athens also, but I have never been there on a GameDay.

The category where you can't cook food.

I've been to 30-40 colleges. The trolls have been to maybe 4-5.

The people writing the articles have often been to over 100. I'll trust their opinion over what college towns are best.

Athens is the universal favorite yet is boring as heck (I've been dozens of times). People talking smack are always clueless.

Is that true? They can't cook at the grove?

No grills last time I went.

All cold cuts.

A big drawback. But plenty of eye candy.

Ever consider that is big factor making LSU the best tailgating school?

Not so fast. In two of those lists I posted in my initial post Madison is listed as #1 twice and #2 once, and has also been listed as #1 by Sports Illustrated and The Sporting News. Universal favorite my arse.

Even Scott Van Pelt picks Madison:
