There is common ground to be found there.

Yeah I was pretty surprised to see how rational they are about the game. It's obvious that LSU is going to be handful for any team but especially for a team that is replacing as many players as Texas. I'm expecting a pretty good game. Some people around here are casually talking about a blowout like it's just a given. Probably the same people who were casually talking about destroying Wisconsin a few years ago.

The only thing they talked about that has any truth to it is our OLine. I do have concerns there. If Cregg has made any improvements then we win going away

This is what's bothering me. This would be like us bragging that we beat Oklahoma in a bowl game.
LSU/UGA had a very brief stint in the 2nd half where it looked like UGA was gaining momentum, but other than those few minutes we absolutely beat the brakes off of them.

Also playing a uga team ranked #2 in the nation with playoffs on the line vs playing them in a meaningless bowl game they didn’t give two shits about after suffering another agonizing defeat at the hands of bama.
The two simply cannot be compared. LSU faced the tougher test and beat their arse. UGA had packed it in by January

Our fanbase gets knocked all the time and sometimes rightfully so, but Texas fans are absolutely ignorant. I have never met a Texas fan that I actually liked talking to.

It's never good to compare results against the same opponent to determine who is going to win a college football game. It's completely pointless when doing this with teams from the previous season.
If you recall, Cane fans were really hung up on this leading up to last year's matchup:
2017:
LSU 17
Notre Dame 21
Notre Dame 8
Miami 41

quote:the o line did not suck last year. They were inconsistent. They were good often enough for the skill positions to make plays. The only game they were overwhelmed was bama which doesn't help texas' case at all
They are banking on our OL sucking

The thing that worries more about the Oline will be the noise in this one. Will be tons of false starts im guessing.
I just hope the Oline is better so sick of saying well it was game 1 or game 2 so that was the reason for all the penalties. Only to be saying the same thing in game 10

A 3 point win on the road against a top ten point definitely boads well for this team, quit being a prick

We dont have to worry about Texas fans being loud.
They may yell for 10 seconds if they score..........but thats about it.
I lived in Texas for 20 years.............UT is the most obnoxious fan base outside of Bama.
The Aggies aren't that bad............well until that 7 OT game last year.

The o line did stink, but it had plenty of excuses. Only two players started every game and only four linemen even played in all 13 games.
13 different linemen played last season, and 9 different guys started at least one game. It was a revolving door due to injuries and then finding someone, anyone to plug up the holes. LSU was forced to play underclassmen long before they were ready.
Now, LSU loses only one player who started at least one game last season (Brumfield), probably returns Ingram, and removes the redshirts from Wire and Rosenthal. LSU's offensive line should be much better this year just by improved health, but also from experience.
I think they are right to question the line's quality, but I also think there's lots of reasons to be encouraged.

If I were them, I'd be focusing on LA Tech first.

many good points. What was it seven different Oline starting lineups the first seven games?
don't expect Ingram back anytime soon. texas judge backed up trial date till after the game.

Pretty much everyone can see that our OL is awful. I don't think we turn the corner until something changes on the offensive line.
Saints have also had weak tackles relative to the interior of their line. This offense is tailor made for our O-line.
