LSU fans here locally will not get near the coverage it does now with regards to baseball & Cox. We're going to get a diet of Miz vs Ga, as I am sure every team will get equal coverage as opposed to going with coverage of the best games that wkend. And watch your cable fees slowly creep up, much like general cable fees have in general. When asked bout ESPN dictating SEC games on Thursda nites or on holidays, CLM danced all round agreeing to play the aggies on T.Giving nite. But make no bones about it, ESPN will have a huge say as to when games are played and what times.

I haven't read any info yet, but how much different would it be than the current setup? Could CST get rights to games not broadcast on the network?
That is the question. I have no idea. The SEC owns the rights to all these games now instead of the schools.

Frick frick frick
ETA: folks cst and LSU are done with this deal. It's group think time now. Again locals will lose out, not just LSU but any team that has side deals, those are done

DO you have any confirmation on this or are you just speculating?

It's in the FAQ thing on SEC network or whatever
Not in my words obviously but SEC network will control all rights other than CBS football of I read it correctly

Yeah but just because the SEC controls the rights doesn't mean they can't sell the games off to be televised on regional networks like individual schools do now.

There will no longer be LSU inventory. It's SEC inventory now

I said that LSU doesn't own the rights to them anymore. There is still no indication that they can't do what I said.

I'm hoping all baseball games will now be on ESPN3 now and the geaux zone model is done for.

uh yes there is

17.What access and programming is each school obligated to provide to the SEC Network?
Outside of the rights in the existing CBS and ESPN agreements, each school provides the rights and access to ALL other live events for the SEC Network.
Unless you think the SEC Network will sell to other networks
Please do not admit you think that
and Im not trying to be a jerk towards you ok

Doesn't something similar happen now with the SEC football/baseball games on Fox? And aren't some CST LSU baseball broadcasts technically part of the SEC network package?
It may be more expensive now and may be out of CST's range, they may not be able to get the quality of games they want, but it doesn't seem like the conference would do anything to limit exposure of games not broadcast by the network.

There is nothing to indicate that one way or the other. If the SEC can make money off of something, they will.

Not the SEC choice
The network, owned by espn
So just so I understand, you think espn will work deals with other networks in each state to sell off what they won't use?
No comment dude seriously

Yeah I'm not sure why the danfraz guy thinks it is so absurd.

So you think espn will offer SEC products to compete with the SEC network they just paid a arm and a leg for?
Ok but I know better

The SEC Network is a partnership between ESPN and the SEC. Why would the SEC sit on hours and hours of games and not broadcast them at all.
Posted on 5/2/13 at 4:08 pm to TigerCub
Espn will own and run the network
The SEC will have no say in espn selling of not selling off events they don't want

An opportunity to make money that otherwise doesn't exist? Yeah, most businesses wouldn't be interested.

Compete means they'd be showing the same games.
