LSU@Bammer, 2002. They just couldn't stop Davey to Reed.

Was great to march out of the stadium behind a celebrating Tiger Band.

Can't remember the year but it was early 80's in Tuscaloosa (or Birmingham) where Bama didn't score one first down the entire first half. It was one of Bear's last games.

The 1982 season. Remember watching on TV & thinking "is that really LSU beating Bammer in B'ham?"

The Tiger D was as good that day as I've ever seen--swarming & suffocating all over the field.

04 Florida .... Down 14 and pulled out the "W" because Joe Addai went playstation style on the last drive and ran the same play 15 times in a row and then dragged a guy into the end zone for the gamewinner.

I know the OP said not including SEC CG's but I've got to throw 2001 vs. #2 UT out there. It basically was a home game for Tennessee with their fans filling at least 80% of the stadium. Of course, once LSU came back with Mauck and Davis and ruined UT's national championship bid, it only made the win that much sweeter. I can still hear the radios blaring "Pour Some Sugar On Me" in the parking lot afterwards.

+1

Was really scary when they scored that first TD. But after that . . . One of the worst hangovers I've ever had.

there is absolutely no greater feeling in sports than being there and winning a big SEC game on the road...on the flip side, there might not be a worse feeling than losing a big SEC game on the road.

So true.

Ole Miss in '03 was special. Florida in '04 was great too.

My favorite LSU day ever was Atlanta for the Miles (not) to Michigan, '07 SEC Championship game, and watching the WVU-Pitt game at the hotel bar afterward.

I was there too. Thats the great thing about being in Athens. I can easily go to SECCG's (if i can get a ticket of course).

True story though: Me, my girlfriend, and my roommate at the time went to that game and were driving back to Athens afterwards. After discussing national championship possibilities, my buddy suggested we try to find the Pitt/WV game on the radio. After messing with the radio for fifteen minutes, we finally find some staticky ESPN subsidiary which announces that the score is 10-7 Pitt in the 4th quarter. Being only about 5 miles from my house, I jack the car up to probably 85 mph (in a 65 zone). Naturally, I get pulled over right as I'm about to get off my exit. The cop comes up and asks the usual "Where you going son?" question. I reply to my house thats right off the exit. He inquires as to why I'm going so fast. My reply: "Honestly officer, we're coming from the SEC Championship Game, and right now Pitt is up on West Virginia 10-7 in the 4th."

His reply (truth): "Holy sh*t, you serious?"

He let me go. It's probably a good thing that I didn't mention I was an LSU fan. I'm thinking that maybe he thought UGA would have had the chance to leapfrog LSU in the rankings. Or he just didn't like the thought of WVU playing in the NC. Either way, I got lucky.

These are my rankings of the best actual road games I attended. Obviously, there were some LSU blowouts that were fun for a win, but not necessarily a great game.

Bama '88 when Philip Doyle missed the kick

Auburn '96 when Raion Hill intercepted & returned the 2 point conversion to seal it (Also the night the barn burned)

Bama' 05

Ole Miss '03

Georgia '87 when Kevin Guidry intercepted to seal the victory

Tennessee '06

Bama '07

Florida '04

Arkansas '06

Auburn '06 (even though we lost)

Auburn '04 (even though we lost)

Kentucky '07 (even though we lost)

not enough atmosphere until late 4th quarter and no tailgaiting. The ending sucked too.

1. Alabama 2007
2. Auburn 2008
3. Georgia 2009
4. MSU 2009

i'm going to leave the losses off of there.

Florida 2008 was the worst
