Nice win today. While we should have taken the series at home, sweeping Missouri gives us a little leeway.

So we are 10-8.

In a very best case, challenging but doable, situation for the remainder of the season:

Take two of three from OM.
Sweep Tennessee.
Sweep Arkansas.
Lose two of three to Florida.

We go 9-3 from here on out to finish at 19-11.

If this team hosts a regional, I think we can be satisfied, considering we lost eight starters. LSU should never rebuild, but in context, this was a "rebuilding" year.

If we win said regional, I will feel like this was an excellent season, even if we get swept in the Super Regional.

The draft should not hit us super hard, so we should be in a position to contend for it all next season.

imo, that excuse isn't valid any longer. it is our pitching staff that is losing it for us. relief pitching that is (now that Lange is back).

when we go to the bullpen I lose all confidence, no matter who comes in.

I feel like half the board is acceptive of the youth in baseball but it's not an excuse in foot ball.

At least We stayed competitive in every game so for. If the pitching was a notch better and more consistent we'd be in much better position. I don't know how we'd potentially fair in the post season because I don't watch teams play.

I like where our bats are going. Really starting to shape our nicely

Yeah. They had those errors on Friday and Lange did terrible yesterday... Not to mention our pitchers scoring no runs vs McNeese...

Definitely on the pitching..

Taking eight of nine is just not really a realistic expectation....I get what you are saying, best case, sure, but in reality, if we can come out of this 6-3, no one can complain. That puts us at 16-11 going into the UF series. 17-13 is a reality that many people would have gladly accepted last month, three months ago, and should today. 17-13 will host a regional and then travel for a Super. No shame.

If we win 3/4 of the remaining series we will easily be a host. I think if we can break the 40 win mark, especially if we do it in the regular season we will earn a national seed.

Thats because you can be good in football with pure athleticism, not so much in baseball, you need reps.

i'll feel like we are bandits if we host. not going to happen. we have 12 games left and I expect us to be about 6-6 or 7-5. will that get us as a host?

hell yea. i'll be first to admit I misjudged this team if we advance to a super. we struggle holding leads and we struggle with come backs. both are indicative of a poor bull pen.

If you don't think our pitching has been atrocious this year you're just lying to yourself. We don't have one pitcher on the roster other than Newman that you can feel good about taking the mound. Nobody has been consistent. This should be the point in the season where they should be shaking that off and improving considering a lot of these guys were solid last year. Hasn't happened yet and that's concerning

I don't see us hosting a super. I think the SEC would get 3 at the most. UF and A&M are almost a done deal. Beyond that USCe, Vandy, and State would all have to implode and we would have to go on a tear.

If we host a regional I would be pleased. I thinks that doable.

I believe we can host and win a regional. Beyond that, I don't know what to expect. Making Omaha is possible, maybe not probable.

Really grating that we lost the series. We had our chances to win both those games, and should have taken at least one.

Comparable to Bama football being pleased with a Chick-F-La bowl appearance

The pitching has been all over the map this year. It's ok to acknowledge that.
