Dude, it's one thing to voice displeasure with the powers that be, but this is ridiculous... have you even seen some of the threads? He's the coach now, get over it, if you don't like the decision fine! I just don't understand why people feel the need to try and convince everybody how bad of a hire it is, and "if you don't feel the same then your obviously dumb and know nothing about college football"... it seems like only Coach O haters are the only ones aloud to have an "informed" opinion. And I never said "hatred" stop being so dramatic, I used the scenario as an example of all the whining, and if you don't consider this whining I would hate to see what you do. I mean it's all on the rant, pettiness everywhere... and for the record Coach O wasn't my 1st choice either (neither was Hillary), but he got the job and I moved on.

I haven't said any of that even once.

And. I've seen plenty of defenders say the critics know nothing about football.

I don't even know what the big deal is. It's irrefutable that LSU just hired a guy that they had to beat NO ONE out for and that they could've friggin waited until July to hire and STILL not had any competition.

If we had hired O away from another team after he'd been their interim coach for 3/4 of a season, we'd have laughed Alleva out of BR.

None of the above means he is 100% certain to fail.

But sheesh. A bit of honesty about the situation as it occurred isn't unreasonable

Yo do realize it's possible to think it's not a good hire and STILL hopw he's successful, right?

Unfortunately I think this concept exceeds the capacity of most here.

Of course I hope O succeeds. But I'm not going to bury my head in sand. I'm extremely alarmed that nobody else was even willing to come here. Alleva has to go no matter how O does, IMO.

Any fool with half a brain knows that it's not Coach O that people have a problem with. It's the sham of a coaching search that Alleva conducted. I like Coach O and I definitely wanted him to stay on as DL coach, but there are about half a dozen guys that LSU should've looked at before offering the job to Orgeron.

It will be funny to see the excuses if O stinks it up.

Look, I get it he probably isn't the most qualified, the process to find a new coach appeared flawed, JA should have interviewed more candidates... I agree with all of that, but he is our coach now, I just don't understand all the whining, It doesn't make our fan base look knowledgeable, it makes us look weak. And if I were you I wouldn't personalize every post, that looks weak too.

The amazing thing that besides SloFlo and his 300 thousand plus posts, most of the bitching seems to come from posters I've never or rarely ever seen post here.

Start paying attention to Tennessee because that's where LSU is headed with a stupid, cheap hire.

I'm going to be a wait and see type with this one. I believe a man can learn from his past mistakes. But for the record LSU conducted a crap search.

People can't separate Johnny Jones project form hiring O. That's where all this fear comes from. Johnny Jones had never coached D1 or righted a D1 program as a intermin HC.

People do realize that O could have sht the bed and not won anything right? He was handed lemons and made lemonade. We looked way more competitive with an OC who didn't even want to do that job. Broke plenty records in the process.

LSU football was dragged down by CLM for too many years and all of a sudden became enjoyable and competitive again.

no hire will unite the fanbase. If Herman would have been hired, the pro Jimbo faction would have hoped he failed. If Jimbo had been hired, the pro Herman faction would hope he failed.

Many fans seem to be situationally attached and prefer the drama around a program to the actual games. No matter who was hired, a group would have been "anti"

Nothing Alleva could do, or any AD would unite this group. Many look for a reason to gripe.

Under the circmustances O might have been the right hire. Even if he fails, he's easy to get rid of and hopefully there will be some better candidates in the future.

Negativity is the religion of the Negatards...it's not unlike the way communism is the religion of the atheists...and since I've spent years researching this connection, I suspect that I'm closer to the truth than most on this site...
