Based on tonight, is it really too much to think that LSU could beat top teams?

OSU looks very beatable tonight and they are number 2.
If it is accurate where they are ranked, LSU looks like they could beat teams like this

On the contrary, maybe LSU would be losing to IU.

Well...LSU hasn't played a game yet. How does anyone know how good LSU is?

NOPE....this year will reveal itself as a year of parody in college football. I think a random dark horse wins it all.

I love how you make assumptions on a teams final product in their first game.

Jeebus. Tigers have not played a snap just yet. I have no idea what kind of team we'll have this season.

The Texas Bowl thing was a joke, this was serious. IU is pretty good on offense. LSU would probably run on them at will though. Of course if you cherry pick bad games by opponents, everyone looks beatable.

if our team stays healthy especially the thin Ol we could be undefeated rolling into bama.

That Indiana team is for real. You can just see that they are out matched on the LOS but their passing game is legit. Much better than what LSU has at the moment. Our WRs need to step up their game along with Etling and we could be a tremendous offense. Etling is good enough to put the ball in accurate spots.

I sure hope he's made end roads with all our WRs in the offseason bc in the spring game it looked like he only trusted Chark. LSU has to get multiple WRs the ball to be successful IMO. You have to use all your weapons so if they have worked with each other enough to build that relationship, this offense could be special.

The run game should be dynamic this year or has the potential to be. We simply need to take what the defense gives us, give the ball to our playmakers and let them do their thing. Once you soften them up a bit THEN you take your shots.

I hate when I see a wide open back or TE in the flats but we throw to a WR downfield who is covered just to gain big yards instantly. This notion needs to go. I hope it has. You look at your coverage, hike the ball, look deep, and work your way in. If the DL is there you throw to the check down or out of bounds. It's as hard as you make it out to be really.

But this team Ohio State is playing is legit passing the football, looks like one of the better teams in the country or big ten for sure. Those big WRs and that TE are NFL type guys. This proves that you can throw the football even if your out matched on the LOS. You have to have WRs who fight to get open and catch, while having a QB who gets the ball out quick. Canada supposed to have worked with Etling with this and with just taking what the defense gives you. Usually the faster you get the ball out the more accurate you are as a QB.

We'll see Saturday if they have made vast improvements. I'm looking forward to some improvements. Can't wait to see this team in action.

you can't take much from any team in first half of first game. However, LSU will have a very good defense, and that is enough to beat top teams.
