At the end of the 5th inning in Wednesday's game the score was tied 4-4. Then LSU exploded for 5 runs. If Renaudo would not have come back in for the one batter in the bottom of the 6th, would he have still been the winning pitcher?

I think the next guy in would have gotten the win, but I'm not sure on that.

We were the home team, so he just had to finish the 5th with the lead.

I wondered at the time if that was why PM sent him back out to open the 6th inning, so he would get the win. If so, another class move for Coach.

No. Since we took the lead in the top of the inning, whichever pitcher came in to pitch in the bottom would have been in line for the win.

That is why Mainieri sent him out for one out to get the win.

No, he had to come back in and get atleast 1 out.

I think PM wanted Ranaudo to pitch to Tucker and then have Chad come in to face the left-handed Belt & Moldy.

He was the pitcher in the game when LSU went ahead so he would have gotten the win in either case.

AR was the pitcher of record when we scored. He would have still received the W if he had not started the 6th.

This is true. It wouldn't have mattered if Chad Jones had come out the start the 6th, Ranaudo records the win.

Wrong. When we took the lead Ranaudo was officially still pitcher of record.

AR came out to pitch to the righty. PM wanted to start CJ out with a lefty batter.

AR was the pitcher of record when LSU took the 5 run lead in the 6th inning. He also already met the min requirements of 5 inn pitched, so whether he came in to pitch to the 1 righty in the 6th or not he was the pitcher of record....he had the win already
