Just ridiculous. Imagine if we handed the ball to LF7 44 times in a game!

again...

no one will be able to touch Barry Sander's stats, so I don't even know why this keeps getting brought up

I imagine it would go like this:

Fournette would run for 300+ yds, tear an ACL in the 4th, The Rant would cause the internet to crash, talking heads all over ESPN would verbally rape Les Miles, and then Les would need a police escort for the Les Miles show.

Barry Sanders is the best running back in the history of football. College and NFL.

I would NEVER want to see Leonard Fournette get 44 carries in a game. Barry Sanders could do that because he was rarely (if ever) hit clean by defenders. He didn't bulldoze defenders the way LF does. Sanders running style was making defenders look silly by juking them out of their shoes.

His jump cuts were just stupid. I remember watching tons of his games where even after incredible performances, he'd have two or three huge runs a game negated by penalty. That dude was fun to watch.

That was his only year as a starter too. Guy named Thurman Thomas was pretty good

Yes. Barry Sanders was the best ever. For me, it isn't close. He would have broken the NFL rushing record if he would have wanted to.

Imagine him running behind the Cowboys o-line during that time vs. those Lions teams that he played for.

My Dad used to say the same exact thing. No one ever seemed to get a clean shot on him. He was simply amazing to watch.

I do think he could take a 300 carry season though. Most of the NFL career leaders in rushing yards, carried the ball a lot in college.

I could see the next 3 games for Fournette going like this

25 carries 260 yards 4 TDs South Carolina
30 carries 225 yards 3 TDs Florida
15 carries 150 yards 2 TDs Western Kentucky

Would put him at 169 carries 1499 yards (8.87 ypc) 20 TDs

Sanders is the only Heisman winner to not recieve the award in person during the live presentation

he was notified of the achievement via satellite tv feed at 4 am since he was in Japan for OSU's final regular season game

on a side note: my brother verbally comitted to OSU and got to witness Barry's record breaking season during several of his recruiting trips

Oklahoma State accepted a quarter through the season that they should just give him the ball.

10-2 record.

LSU needs to do the same.

Give him 30+ carries a game.

YOLO

You Only Leonard Once

unless you count next year, then its twice.
