He didn't get hit like a normal back did. Greatest football player Ive ever watched.

In his first game in the NFL, the opposing team complained to the refs that Barry had to have vaseline on his jersey because no one could get a clean hit. He was just that freakishly gifted. I was the perfect age for football. I turned 10 in 1993 at the height of Jerry Rice and Barry Sanders's primes, the respective GOAT's at their positions. I got to enjoy watching Barry for 6 seasons and Jerry for 10.

I was 10 watching Herchel and also watched Jerry at MVSU ;)

Sanders is the best ever for me.
LF could change that.

That was always the strategy with Sanders - even when he was in Detroit: hand the ball to him enough times and he would break long runs.

He was often caught behind the lines or for smaller gains but -eventually- he would become the Road Runner and leave everybody dazed, confused, and in the dust.

Sanders was very elusive. He rarely took a solid hit. LF seeks out contact, but also has speed and moves. For longevity's sake he'll need to rely on them more and run over people only when he has to.
