Metairie? Gonzales? I can't see all hotel rooms being sold out. Just seems like someone perhaps goofed.

I've never left Lafayette later than 10 before for a game. I'm sure the band will be on the road by 9

Vermilion link says they're practicing from 1 - 2:30. And yes, distance but it just sounds so silly to go THROUGH where you're ending up to have to drive BACK to it the next day. Whatever.

Lafayette is closer tha New Orleans proper though probably not Kenner. But I would imagine there are hotels all along I-10 in Gonzales, for instance.

And, much to my chagrin, there are a lot of Bama fans in Lafayette (actually, I think it's really a mix of a few Bama fans and a lot of LSU haters). Not as bad as the rant makes it out, but way worse than it should be. There is also a very vocal LSU crowd here. I am a USL alum but my heart still belongs to the Purple and Gold.

ETA 57 miles to Lafayette &0 miles to Luois Armstrong in Kenner.

Yes that's true. I just really figured this would have been an "earmarked" full band game way back when and arrangements taken care of a long time ago. As an LSU fan that travels I-10 to the games, I'd laugh if they get stuck in traffic .. that basin bridge sucks.

They still planned it a long time ago and will have police escorts like Tiger Band does for away games.

If I was driving into the game from the acadiana area, I'm finding out when they leave and following the convoy.
