I guess he likes the back of Mainieri's head for some reason.

Hitter's park in most aspects.
Last I checked it usually ranks bottom 10 in park factor each year, contrary to perception.

Our lefties do not pull the ball down the line, they are more slap hitters.
We have some that can take advantage of the short left field mini monster
Stevenson gives us a big advantage covering all that ground in CF

Laird is a slap hitter, but Stevenson and Fraley are big time pull hitters.

Here's something that I've been pondering about Laird. Yeah, he is fast and a great outfielder, but does the fact that nearly 100% of his hitting is predicated on slapping the ball the other way hurt his draft stock at all?

You can hit .300 in college doing that, but in the pros you have to swing a more versatile bat.

And the pros have the balls to shift the defense and ability to pitch him solely outside. It's an interesting thought

I'm drawing a blank, was he drafted at all in the last 3 years? Factor in how weak his arm is and I think there is a good shot he is back here for his senior year.

Thanks Goose.

What about Minute Maid acoustics for "Let's go - strike him out" chants?

Yeah, I think it's been a couple years since I last looked, but I remember being surprised at how low it actually ranked.

Laird is gone. You can't teach speed and he has it.

How about "induce, induce, induce the double play"?

That one hasn't caught on, but Mr and Mrs K try.

I think Laird comes back. You can work on his hitting, but your not making his arm any stronger.
