Big assumption. More like wishful thinking. But we can always hope. The season doesn't start for 29 more days.

UGA, UF, Bama, TAMU that are higher ranked).

Very possible that FLA and T AM will be ranked lower than LSU when they play..........

Hell, if we go undefeated a two loss Alabama team will somehow get in because of the "eye test" that ESPN will promote.

If both LSU and Ohio State go undefeated, LSU will be number 1 based on schedules alone. Ohio State will not be rewarded for their undefeated season last year. LSU's schedule is too brutal not to end up number 1 in that scenario.

If lsu goes undefeated I don't see another team except maybe Ohio st going undefeated.

It could be an lsu versus Alabama/aTm rematch.

LSU will not go undefeated. It would take a miracle. If they do, it'll be like 2004 Auburn. They won't get in. And even if they do that, Les'll just screw it up like '11.

as one generally does when you "go undefeated"...

quote:

Which of these teams will LSU leap frog?

all of the above. in recent years an undefeated SEC team, or in a special case a one-loss SEC team (non SEC Champion) can play in a National Championship game.

quote:

Will an undefeated team from SEC gain an automatic berth to the NC?

as in recent years...yes. also see last season, one-loss Alabama wins the SEC Championship and goes on to obliterate Notre Dame in the BCSCG.

No doubt they leap frog Louisville, Notre Dame, and Clemson. That just leaves Ohio State and a Pac-12 team that you could MAYBE make an argument for. Even then, I think LSU gets the nod. If LSU takes down TCU, Bama, the media-sucked-off A&M, Florida, and then the remainder of an SEC schedule I just can't justify them not being #1.
