So you’re more interested in someone with ZERO OC experience vs someone who’s had success at the job?

Callaway looks good to me. I'd much rather his young mind as opposed to a big name retread.

I like the idea of Russ to PGC and have the model be the same as E and Brady. Make it clear to E that his role is to bring the kid up. Teach him what he knows and what he saw as being successful from 2019. Make it clear to him that he is auditioning for OC.

I am all in with Russ.

Give him PGC with E still at OC
Or give OC to Russ and move E back to TE but leave E in the booth with Russ.

DC I like Freeman and Reeves.

1. Not every 30 something year old is Joe Brady.

2. I have A hard time believing the solution to our problems is on staff.

Callaway is not going to be the OC. I'm not arguing the merits of whether he should or shouldn't be. Just stating reality.

Depends on your definition of "proven"

He spent 4 years as an FCS offensive coordinator and led the nation in passing.

I'm not advocating for him, but I wouldn't be against it.

neither would I. I was just replying to OP. I am not opposed in any way in given a young coach a chance...but the O haters insist we hire the best coordinators available

100% as OC. He has done the job successfully and his offensive mind is well respected. Just because it was at a lower level makes no difference to me as long as it as the college level. He is young, knows the QB position and will be here for a while.

So what? Do you want to continue developing the system that created the best offense in history or would you rather Scott Linehan’s garbage offense? Who cares if he’s never been an OC if we’re going to keep this thing going on offense you have to hire guys who were brought up in that system. Was Joe Brady ever an OC before this year? would you have hired him as our OC if Ensminger retired after last season? If you think retreads are the only avenue to hire coaches you’re doing yourself a disservice.

The most over used saying in a long time!! Up there with “As If”, and “Don’t hate the player, hate the game.”.

Basically it’s not an insult or viable comeback at all anymore. Makes the person saying it look more like an imbecile than the person it is aimed at...

Has Russ ever called a college game?

Every run an offense?

I know nothing about him...

but...what experience does he have that makes him qualified?

LSU can hire the best guy in the country who has been an OC and running a successful offense for a couple of years. Calloway has not been doing that.
