Are we losing more or less to the portal than other SEC schools?

Didn’t expect this many players…not that it’s necessarily a bad thing. Just curious where others stand…like A&M, Baia, UGA, etc.

We have only lost backups. Most other schools can’t say the same.

I didn't downvote you (but I will be sure to do so now). If you would pay attention to anything at all you would already know that LSU hasn't really lost any significant pieces. And other programs have lost some contributors.

This a small amount of players even including the 2 other olinemen that will probably transfer.

They can’t quantify what they’re saying. Instead using vague terms such as “we’ve lost less than our competitors” lol wtf does that even mean? 1 less? 10 less?

LSU has only lost major contributors to the draft this year.

With the current portal situation, you are going to lose backups at a big time school, you then have to try to replace them with starters at smaller schools who want an opportunity to shine on the biggest stage. Just a fact of life now.

Check and see for yourself. Use the drop down menu to toggle to the various schools.

And we actually haven’t lost any yet. If they don’t find a better situation to their liking they can still come back.

IDK numbers or starters for comparison.

IMO, the biggest contributors to go portal are Bech and Kole Taylor. Dumervil and Wire hurt our OL depth.

I hate when our players leave but the era of the 4Y backup or role player is closing.

That is not a given at all. Once a player enters the portal, the player has lost the scholarship at the present University and the University has no obligation to take the player back, that would be up to the Coach to re-offer a scholarship, if one is available. If a scholarship is not available, the player who entered the portal is SOL or if the Coach refuses to re-offer a scholarship to a player who entered the portal, the player is SOL at the school.

A majority of the players that have entered the portal over the past couple of seasons have not found a new scholarship spot on a roster.

Yet another reason why the current setup is a disaster. Who in their right minds thought it was a good idea to let kids do something like this without at least a mandatory consultation with their coaches?

Most of the people we are losing are moving on because of their position on the depth chart. If Kelly really wanted them he could talk them in to staying.

I downvoted you because you should be able to look and see without asking stupid questions.
