Yea I was surprised. But I understand the defender is pretty speedy himself and had a good angle so that may explain it.

It was still a great run! That kid barrow or whoever has some serious speed though. RS did great yesterday.

I just saw it again on CollgeFootballFinal. It looks like #4 for Bama just kept a constant speed and RS has a high gear that burns out fast.

Yea he was looking back and it was also late in the game. RS took some good hits yesterday. I think it was a combination of all that.

Randle did not outrun Barron...for an unexplainable reason Barron decided not to attempt a tackle on Randle inside the 10 yard line...he could have easily made contact even if he didn't keep him from scoring...that was pretty lazy by Barron

It looked like to me that Barron exerted 100% max effort to catch Shepard, and in the process somehow hurt himself. Hamstring? Barron was slow to get up after tackling Shepard.

I think that's why he didn't catch Randle.

Nah. He took a Shep foot to the gut as he tackled him.

Wasn't the Shep play after Randle's TD ?

Two reasons he got caught IMO.

1. The defender had a slight angle on him and he wasn't exactly slow. Bama has tons of speed on D.

2. Shep kept looking back to see if he was gonna get caught. I think had he just gone full speed at the endzone he would have scored easily.

Yep same thing I said but I'm not sure RS had hit top gear for some reason.
