Towson is the worst place in the world. It's the Plano of Maryland.

It was a late add but it's still ridiculous. If we're going to add a shameful FCS game, at least make it a local program and help out McNeese or Northwestern St or something.

I stand corrected. Towson is Div1-AA. I appreciate the explanation regarding the scholarship limitations-was unaware of the specific numbers.

Amazes me to this day how people still call Division I-AA/FCS "Division II".

Division I-A/FBS teams are not allowed to play Division II teams. Towson is Division I-AA/FCS. Division II is a lower division than Division I-AA. Division I-A allows 85 scholarship players, Division I-AA allows 63, Division II allows just 36. Division III allows 0.

Ehh, amazing? It's the next tier below us. It seems a perfectly understandable, if technically incorrect designation.

It's also inexcusable from a scheduling standpoint. Any excuse given, is nothing but a cop out.

Towson is also the alma mater of Stacy Keibler and Coach Vitt of the Saints.

I don't know if LSU asked McNeese, but I know their coach is not open to playing more than one payoff game a year. The has been LSU in the past, they have also played Missouri and Texas A&M. His rationale is that he doesn't want his guys getting hurt on games they can't win. So if they asked and McNeese already had one scheduled, they'd say no unless someone strong-armed them from the administration.

The most common thing that is screwed up by fans of college football is calling Division 1AA Division 2, they are not the same thing

They're not Div. II. They're FCS. Completely different level.

TCU maybe have had to back out, LSU didn't add A&M, the # of SEC games is the same as it has been since 1992, so how would that f'up LSU's schedule? The SEC schedule is made by the SEC.

It wasn't the number of SEC games that screwed it up. It was the "when" the SEC games happen that screwed it up. AVailable dates didn't match up. Towson was one of the few that could schedule with us.

Running the minefield we did last year will keep any rumblings of a weak OOC schedule pretty quiet.

Because Alabama, Southern Cal, Oregon and Florida State were booked. We're trying to get tuff out of conference games since the SEC is soooo weak.
