Yes sir. My wife and I were on our 5th anniversary trip and we stopped off at a lil bungalow outside of Centreville, Mississippi and then decided to go to the game last minute. I bought back to my sons a piece of the turf. Nambie pamby Rebels.

I was there as I graduated in 1960 and it was Max Fugler, the center and linebacker that lead the goal line stand to preserve the victory.
I was also at a track meet where Canon tied the world record in the 100 yard dash(wind-aided) and won the shot put, also.

My grandparents were at that game as I believe my grandmother was in school at LSU at the time.

I was living in Baton Rouge at the time and remember hearing the roar of the crowd in my crib and been a tiger fan ever since.

Blueridge: is it true they used to make the freshmen go to the game in their pajamas? I've heard that rumor from time to time?

My mother and father were at the game. Everything my father told me about the game, matched Dan's notes (sport writer) I have in my collection and the game film.

I was nine at the time - my Dad had two season tickets and we always went to the games together - he took his best friend who he had fought in the war with - go figure. Listened to JC - was told there were something like five major heart attacks in the stadium that night; to this day love the call.

I was there. Age 9. Upper deck above the visitor tunnel . Smelled lots of whiskey. It was VERY loud. And yes the freshmen wore PJs at some games.

I would have loved to have witnessed that exchange in person!

I'd probably give a limb to have a ticket stub from that game in my collection.

My grandparents were there and my grandmother's favorite story about the game was about the Ole Miss fan who kept asking her, "where's your Billy Cannon?" all night. During the return, Grandma tapped her on the shoulder and said, "there he goes right there!"

Now THAT is a fricking cool story BRO!!!

I wasn't born yet, so no. My eventual mother-in-law was 20 at the time and went on a date to the game with a guy who turned out to be my High School Football coach. It was their first and last date.
