He was on Finebaum's show! You think the Finebaum fans want to hear how well things are going in Baton Rouge? No, they want to hear crap about Bama. Finebaum's questions were centered around Bama, and Marcus answered them correctly. That show is supposed to be a national show, but we know it's all about Bama.

All the Saban era LSU players kiss Saban's arse any chance they get. It's what you can expect when he's on the SEC network

Of course. Spears only got the job on the condition he blows Saban and Bama like every other media outlet. 2 Sec titles = dominance

So...Name the two favorites on each side and two longer shots than LSU....LSU fanbase loses its mind

Right. LSU isn't a long shot, I don't think anyone would be too surprised if they win, but also aren't favorites. This guy isn't obligated to mention LSU BC he played here.

I would like to hear him expound on the differences between his LSU coach, and the LSU coach today...now that would be interesting, and the fallout on the Rant would be classic must see TV.

Our former players, especially a Marcus Spears, have done more for LSU than any of these numbnuts getting offended by them giving their opinion ever have or ever will. In other words STFU!!!

I feel like every year, LSU gets less preseason hype than it deserves despite consistently being better than most of the SEC West. I wanted to see if there was any actual evidence for this, so I pulled the preseason SEC West Predicted Order of Finish from Media Days for the last 5 years (2009-2013) and this is what I found:

Number of times LSU has finished worse in the SEC West standings than projected: ZERO.
Number of times LSU has finished higher than projected: 3 out of 5 years; 2010, 2011, 2012
Number of times LSU has finished behind a team that it was projected to finish in front of: 1, Auburn 2013
Number of times LSU finished ahead of a team it was projected to finish behind: 4 out of 5 years.
2013 Texas A&M, 2012 Auburn, 2011 Alabama, 2010 Alabama

As important as perception is in college football, its frustrating that other teams just take undeserving turns in the media spotlight.

Spears kind of robbed Dallas with how he got paid so much for such subpar play, so it doesn't surprise me he has subpar opinions. <___<

No, but once a Saban guy always a Saban guy. It is kind of weird that he rattled off all those teams and didn't mention LSU.

I think a big part of the problem for some LSU fans here is that McElroy gets all the air time to plug saban/bama, Palmer is criticized (unfairly to me ) for being a former gator, Herbie is ripped for being a former Buckeye,Holtz for being such a Golden Domer arsehole. etc. So when LSU finally gets a former player on air, he's expected to sound like all the rest of the former on the air players, i.e. a homer. I won't judge him by his one time performance ..so far.

I have heard him on the air twice, I had to go check an old program to make sure he went to LSU and not Bama. Have a nice career Marcus, if you give more than you did at Dallas you may make it. I told my Cowboys fan friends what a stud they were getting when they drafted him, I still get razzed for that.

WOW! Just WOW! Speaking of subpar!

Now you go back to robbing your boss by eating those fries you cooked but didn't pay for.
