I looked up PIA on the internet, and it has the highest marks for VPN services rated.

I'll be in Australia for the Wisconsin game. I'd like to use PIA in order to watch the game on the WatchESPN app. After subscribing to the service, is there anything I need to do while in the states before I leave in order to have proper access when in Australia?
TIA!

I watch all the games either in Abu Dhabi, Bangkok or Bali as those are the places I live and travel to especially during Sep-Oct, and sometimes I come home to La. and catch a couple of games in either month, but need to be in Bali for a golf tournament every Oct. ESPN Player works in Europe and the Middle East but not in Southeast Asia, unless they offer it this year. You can also get a VPN and join CBS Sports online site or the Watch ESPN App. The following are the apps, devices an websites I have ready as back-ups:
Slingbox
Is the best bet but make sure you set it up at a friend's house or where someone could re-boot it if it stalls out. But very clear and works anywhere, but you need fast internet for consistent streaming. Make sure you have the SEC Network on the cable network you use.
ESPN Player
Great system but will only carry the game when LSU is playing on ESPN or affiliates.
Rojadirecta
Is great and saved me to watch LSU-Bama in 2014

1. Install Kodi (formerly XBMC) on either your computer or on an Amazon Fire TV Stick.
Watch the How-To video.
2. Install the ESPN3 video app.
3. Livestream whatever is showing on ESPN.

Note: It does not include the SEC Network.

You should be good to go. I downloaded it while already living in Paris and had no problems. So you should be able to troubleshoot in Australia should anything go wrong while you're there. I would write down your log in info though, it's annoying to recover that when there's 5 minutes until kick off.

VPN's are pretty nice. And cheap. With Netflix having different listings in different countries, it allows you to expand your library. Easily worth a few bucks imo.

If you are military you'll have no problem. I was stationed in Germany from 96-00 and was able to watch some on AFN. That was when AFN only had one station. I was in Qatar in 2007 and watched every game except cupcakes on AFN. Watching night games will suck for you because you'll have to get up at 3AM to watch it live. I remember waking the house up during the 97 Florida game!

Thanks for all in great info guys. I think AFN has definitely expanded its channels. I don't mind waking up at 3am to watch the tigers play!

In Munich, you can catch a college game on TV almost as easily as you can here in the states. The large number of US personnel there makes it a must for the pubs.

Easy to catch the 230 games since they usually come on at 930 local time there. The night games...not as easy only due to the time differential, but it was always easy to get the ESPN feed there even 20 years ago

I have been watching LSU games in Europe for 87 years . Love every year more than the last. I watched the 1958 National Title on the 75 inch 4k ultra HD TV at my favorite Pub.

Did you not leave after WWII? How did Billy Cannon look in 4k? That must have been sick!

I just purchased PIA and I'm giving it a test run. It seems my ordinary web speed has increased tremendously (I have cable, which sometimes bogs down in the afternoons when a lot of cable users are online).
So far, I'm very pleased with it. BTW, my IP address says I'm in Texas, not Colorado!

I spent 4 weeks in Europe last season. I used the free streaming sites like VipBox to watch the game. Solid quality, got the job done. Be mindful of the time difference. I had to wake up at 3 in the morning to watch the Miss St game.

I live in Germany and I use a family members login. To get around the geo restriction you can use a VPN.

I was in Djibouti the whole 2010 season. Luckily I got to watch all the games.

I tried to watch baseball from Italy before and missed the entire series. It's not possible.
