The missed pitch really hurt him, but other than that I thought he was solid.

This.

The missed pitch cost him big time. Without a couple of negative plays that were no fault of his own, he would have had a nice average. If he get gets a couple of decent throws on the screen passes, he could have broken off a really nice gain. He never really got into any space.

I'm sure he was disappointed after the game, but after reviewing the film, I'm sure he will see it like this. I feel really bad for the next couple of opponents, especially in the fourth quarter when the opponents will be tired, the seniors are resting and we have a substantial lead (hopefully).

He seems like the type of kid who never wants to let anyone down; real good kid.

All I can say is he has no reason to hang his head if he is. It was his first game and being logical I expected some growing pains at times during his first year. I can't wait to watch him grow and learn. He's going to be a beast as soon as he gets comfortable and breaks that first run.

I noticed him after the game with his head down and just looking extremely disappointed.. Not sure if he was mad at himself or his o line or what,

I saw him on the highlights going to the crowd after the game celebrating with the fans with his teammates. He may have had his head down because he has high expectations for himself and he knows he has more work to do. He'll be great.

he made the most of what was there. Probably could have caught the pitch which was the only opportunity he had where there looked like there was some room for him to really show. Just the first game. He'll probably break loose against Mississippi St in a big time game.

Had that pitch not happened, he'd have 7 rushes for 29 yards which is over 4 a clip. He also never got the ball in space, which is where he is most dangerous.

If he gets a couple pitches on the option or gets those screen passes, he'll get his numbers. Next two weeks will be huge for him to sharpen his teeth on weaker opponents before SEC play.

Before it's all over he will be the best in the history of LSU. One game. Was not horrible. His day will come and we will all bow down.

Hell no. He is a true freshman playing a top 15 team on a neutral site in his first game...only Barry Sanders should look good in that situation.

LF has plenty of time to be a star, to shoulder the load. His team won without him(probably the first time that has happened in his life).

We did not need him against Wisconsin...oh well...im pretty sure we will somewhere in SEC play. He can easily show up during any of those games and have a coming out party none of us will ever forget.

Saturday night could have been the best thing for him. He AND the fans found out he is not superman. I hope some of the fan expectations have been reduced, and at the same time, he now sees it is not like college teams are going to just sit back in awe of him- he will have to work harder and success will come in due time. in time he will become a great RB for LSU, but right now we won and teams see we still have multiple runners to be concerned about.

He's going to rip it up going forward and we'll all look back at the Wisconsin game as an anomaly

He's 18 yrs old at LSU, probably banging a cheerleader right now and likely will be a rich pro athlete one day. He should feel bad for me.

Yeah didn't he average like 35 yards on returns? I'll take that.

Dealing with adversity is part of life; for All Day, for Peyton Manning for Jerry Rice. Everybody, no matter how brilliant, faces an underwhelming performance. Fournette is going to be very special.

Bingo, Drake. AP has always had health/durability issues since his days at OU. Rice was "too slow" and lambasted by the SF media as a rookie for having "terrible hands". Manning never beat Florida and passed the torch to a first yr starter that subsequently won a national title. He probably wanted to do too much. He needs that first big TD run against Sam Houston to get that old feeling back.
