it doesnt really matter if you can kick a 60 yard field goal... we wont be trying many of those. if you miss them, the other team gets too good of field position.

id rather a girl who was extremely accurate from 30-45 (from both hashes) than a guy who could kick one 70 yards.

that said, i have no idea if Mo is more accurate than our current kickers. i kinda doubt it, though.

First of all, I'm patently aware that she will likely not make the team.

Then she should NOT be out there...then throw in all of the other distraction factors and it is a BAD idea.

What if someone blocks one and she has to make a tackle and gets hurt?

what if alleman has to make a tackle and gets hurt?

i think this whole thing boils down to one thing:

You dont want to have a bama fan make fun of you for having a girl on the team. which is funny because YOU DONT PLAY FOR LSU!

Hate to burst your little "distraction" bubble, but these guys aren't hangin out staring at her while she kicks. She will not dress out in the same locker room. They will likely not even notice her presence on the sidelines. TM's situation was a FAR worse "distraction" than this is.

What do you think is gonna happen? Mett is gonna be in the pocket evading a pass rush, when the vision of *gasp* a GIRL on the sidelines meets his eyes! He completely loses his concentration and 4 defensive linemen do their best Vilma impression on him. Out for the season, no his career, Mett will become (or continue as) a delinquent alcoholic misogynist... All because that stupid Les Miles put a darn wummern on the field.

Also, give Raph a call to see how he feels about your idea that people who don't make the team shouldn't try out in the first place.

Look clown...your words were you KNOW she prob wont make it.

Les Miles doesn't let boys walk-on that he thinks aren't LSU material...she falls into that category by your own words...

The reason he doesn't let a bunch of wanna be's try out is it would take time away from the better developement of quality players and the unwarranted walk-ons would be a distraction and a HUGE liability OF LSU's exposure to suits.

She's NOT good enought ot be on LSU's football team...deal with it bro, or keep arguing with yourself.

NO ONE WANTS HER TO MAKE IT, seriously

Agreed. Saying you can kick a 51 yarder is great. But saying you can kick a 51 yarder repeatedly, with accuracy, with great timing and with a high initial point to get it over the def is hard. I'd say a 51 yarder with no def and no snap is alike to a 30 or 35 yarder- if that.

I knew a guy from Colorado that could kick a 75 yd fg with ease from a tee. No joke. But he never could get the timing and initial height to kick even a 30 yd fg in consistently a game.

This is why some punters do the kickoffs- hence the saints. They have power but might lack timing or initial height- or accuracy though I think someone claiming to make 60, 70, whatever yd fg means they can do it accurately.

Her best is barley over 50 in practice! That is AVERAGE for a decent high school kicker.
i made a few 57 and 58's in high school. hit the bar then trying 60. OT Baller.

oohh you mean like a kick off. I practiced with Wade Richie a few times and he was bombing it through the uprights competing with Boniol. and he straight up said most NFL kickoff specialists can do that but the key is to get it as high as you can around the -3.

so off a tee through the uprights means nothing

Ok, bud. You're right. She's a huge liability. The players haven't gotten as much practice as they should've because they've been transfixed by Mo practicing FGs. The coaches are only allowing her to try out because she's a woman and it's a novelty (not because she's a good athlete... Because that's just preposterous). No one in the LSU organization, or fan base for that matter, wants her to make the team. And her vagina makes her unfit to try out for the football team. I guess we should get her hitched, pregnant and in the kitchen before she decides to try any other shenanigans that will jeopardize the entire athletic department's future, as this has...

it would be a horrible PR move for Les Miles to not allow a girl to try out during open tryouts. He really has his hands ties. He's not letting her try out because she's that good, he' letting her tryout because he has to. Can you imagine the shite storm that would follow if he told her to take a hike?

Perhaps. But would a soccer player with similar leg strength from a men's team get run off as quickly as you're suggesting she would?

a soccer player from the mens team (if we had one) wouldn't tweet about a 53 yard field goal of a stand, but yes it would be much easier to tell him thanks but no thanks very quickly and no one would care or hear about it.

That's one of the things you hold against her? That she tweeted about it?

You don't know very much about the actual tryout process, but I can tell you that you are very off base here

I know and have seen people who tried out to be a kicker for LSU and Mo is a lot better and more athletic than they were...and "Les" would let them keep trying out every semester (even though he doesnt really have much say and doest give a shite, its all Sam Nadar).

Hell, they let this guy be a walkon kicker for a year 5'6'', 106 lbs

Not saying she will make it, but she is not getting any special treatment for getting a tryout at all

Just go look at last year's football roster and look at how many names are on there that you've never even heard of LINK

wrong. I know someone who was way worse and newer at field goal kicking than Mo is (he only played soccer in HS) and he went through the full tryout process with Mo last semester

he was also told he could come back and tryout again this fall if he wanted to (he didnt because he realized he will never be good enough)
