So, to use your criterion, our 3rd string walkon kicked it at the proper trajectory to avoid defenders when he made this kick?

No one is arguing that we have great kickers on the roster and that she likely won't make the team because of this fact. I'm addressing the fallacy that she doesn't "deserve" a tryout for no other reason than the fact that she's a woman. If she were a dude, granted we wouldn't be having this debate, but I've never ever hear anyone (player, coach, or fan) say that any man "doesn't deserve a tryout". If they suck they don't make the team. Doesn't have any bearing on whether or not try should be allowed to tryout.

Based on the way he applies his "logic," yes.

Ok, she tweets. I'll give you that. But...

How does she compare to any place kicker we have on the roster besides Alleman?

do you know how well he could kick the ball?

i'm guessing no, so how can you even begin to compare him to Mo? we know how far Mo can kick, she tells us. We also know how far the guys we have can kick. She isn't as good as any of them. So we should just give her a uniform and a spot on the team because we had a guy on another team that was smaller than she is?

Am I missing something? Did she make the team, and if not what are you babbling about? Why are you so concerned? Are you also trying to walk on?

How consistently was he hitting those?

who cares, it's 11 yards further than mo's longest and he's not even going to see the field more than likely. mo has one semester left, what's the fricking point?

I like my kickers to be consistent. That way they're more likely to hit them in a big game.

he posted some random kid from 5 years ago trying to compare him to Mo when you have nothing of which to compare the two except he's small. what do you expect me to say?

its a comparison because people keep stating she didnt even deserve to have a tryout...as if they are offended she is even trying to make the team

and apparently if god forbid they let her on as a fourth-string walkon kicker people will apparently be upset about it and think it will affect the team in a negative way

I would be a lot more worried about Mr. Anders having to make a tackle and getting hurt than Mo

Seriously, she sucks compared to guys at LSU.

Mo is a TREMENDOUS person and LSU ambassador!

Is she a decent girl soccer player who makes a good story? Yes

Is is a stunt? NO DOUBT

I'm over 35 yrs old, kicked in high school, and I'll bet you whatever you like I can hit a 50 yarder in one week....probably the first day.....I DO NOT NEED TO BE ANYWHERE AROUND LSU's PRACTICE FIELD taking reps....

Then they will tell her she didn't make the team when her tryout ends. I don't see why this is such a lightning rod.

well yea, you dont have any eligibility left

and if you did, I bet you would be able to get an open tryout just like Mo is

if she isn't good enough she won't make the team...I guess I'm just missing what the actual issue is

Mothafrickin this.

The idea that Mo probably won't make the team, and thus shouldn't be allowed to tryout/doesn't "deserve" a tryout is absurd.

her making this a "show" is most likely the reason everyone is up in arms.

people don't seem to realize that there are a ton of people who have the "talent" level of fourth string walk-ons

the real part to being on walk on is having a good attitude, dedication, and wanting to be on the team

you work your arse off, practice everyday, go through all the team meetings and workouts just to be able to dress out 4 times a year and get to go on the bowl trip. walk ons are in the stands with the students for SEC games

you get sent to do all the community service events and and other things like that

if she is willing to do all of that, and she is as good as the rest of the walk on kickers trying out, and they have another walk on spot there is no reason she shouldnt get it IMO

I like Mo but I am just not crazy about all the publicity she gets compared to the other players who will actually be playing in games for the Tigers this season. She definitely loves the attention she is getting and wouldn't ever turn down an interview.
