Nick Saban 07 Alabama team did not have one single player drafted in any of the 7 Rds of the NFL Draft. It was the 1st time in decades that happened at Alabama. He also had like 10 players arrested in the off-season. Jimmy Johns was trafficking heavy amounts of Blow. He was the 5th coach in 10 years and they were still on probation. It was a dumpster fire. He was lucky that the state pumped out an crazy amount of talent in 08 With Julio, Dareus, Barron, Upshaw, etc all graduating highschool the same year.

And yet they went 10-2 2 years before Saban got there --- with Shula as the coach.

What is it about Katy, Tx

Katy is an ok place but I'd prefer to be back in LA.

But what does it matter where I live regarding the question in the OP? I once lived in Tiger Stadium but none of that changes the question.

That was in 05 with Demeco Ryans that senior class was the last class from before the probation scholarship reductions. There was zero talent when Saban got to Alabama. Andre Smith was the only elite player on the roster. Alabama had not had a 1st Rd pick in 8 years at that point. Alabama lost to ULM in his 1st year. Rashad Johnson was a walk on RB, Arenas had never played CB, Bama started a transfer LB from MTSU. Straight dumpster fire players were cut left and right to beef up the roster. He signed 32 in, 08. His Roster management was masterful. The 08 and 09 classes had at least 20 instant impact players that played right away.

This myth that Miles inherited a top 5 program needs to die. Miles inherited a 3 loss team. Miles inherited a program that had lost less than 3 games TWICE since 1987.It's laughable that some posters think LSU runs on co pilot and that LSU was a top 2-5 program when the facts say different.when Miles was hired , lsu was coming off a 3 loss season and a recruiting class that saban had clearly given up on.

No. And it was so good that he rode it to a NC and has taken a decade, A DECADE, to run it in the ground.

Les Sucks.
