Just hard to believe that a program like this can only have three starters!

Dude it’s a long season. It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon. Don’t hit the panic button. They will be fine. Need to get guys healthy. 2 stud pitchers recovering from injury. Starting CF and SS both injured right now. Team hasn’t shown there full potential yet but they will

Walker
Storz
Labas
Take a guess at what they have in common

What year was it under Mainieri were they started slow and ended up winning like 25 games in a row at the end of the year? Be patient. This team will get its stride.

This team ain't winning 25 in a row with this pitching staff. Take off your PM goggles.

Stirs is out til mid season at best, Labas may throw this week.
Walker is done for the season.
Our starting pitching has some possibilities, but a long way to go.

They will figure it out and make a run in May. They do it every year yet you guys still freak out early in the year. They still just won a series against a ranked team with all the struggles.

Is the problem freshman/sophomore pitchers? Watching the games the last couple of weeks I thought there were kinks to be worked out. Nerves, high expectations, etc.
From what I watched a lot of the problems seem to be things that can be worked out after getting a few games under their belt. Given, this rotation isn’t going to set the world on fire. But they can generate enough offense to cover for that if the rotation can iron out the basic problems.

I’m sure people like you said the same thing that year. It’s baseball. This team could win 25 straight or lose 25 straight. A couple years ago we were looking like a 2 or 3 seed halfway thru the season and being sent on the road for postseason. Ended up being a national seed. Don’t need PM glasses to see this team has a lot of potential. Offense is there. Just need to get the weekend rotation set. I think the bullpen will be a strength as they get experience too.

I wish I had your confidence in the pen. I don't see a set up man or a closer. granted, we have time to find some guys. they performed well against Notre Dame but we were down big time already. it's a LOT easier to pitch when the game isn't on the line.
looks like the pen may be the difference in many games this season (if our bats stay hot) so I sure hope you are correct.
