18 reps for a 300 lb DT is pathetic.

Not a good showing for sure.

Wow, that isn't good. Thought he would at least be 23-25 rep range.

Functional strength. He is not training for a bodybuilding competition.

18 reps is pretty pedestrian.
To put that in perspective, that's doing 73% of his body wt. 18 reps. I weigh about 190 lbs. If scaled to my body wt, that would be 18 reps with 138 lbs. I'm actually eligible for some senior citizen discounts and and I can do that.

Doug Mouton just said on 4th down on 4 that he didn't have a good showing today.

Actually, most professional bodybuilders don't bench. They focus on isolation, not power. Tre White did 16 reps. That's a 200 lb CB doing two less reps than a 300 lb DT.

I would think godchaux is more suited for higher weights in a one rep max rather than an endurance test at 225. Still not a very good number either way.

Wait til Moffit gets ahold of him...

Adams also put up 18 on the bench for comparison

You think he should be constantly having his guys do burn outs with 225?
From my understanding, Moffit tends to focus more on functional strength. Most of these guys that put up stupid numbers on bench press specifically train for it before the combine.

As coach Daniels would say, "You cain't run on your damn arms!"

I don't think LSU players ever typically have great bench numbers. LSU players would perform much better if they had them doing Olympic explosive type lifts.

Woof. 5.27 40, 18 reps, and a bunch a DNPs? Not good. I argued before the season that he was our best defensive player. And a 3-4 DE in Aranda's system isn't gonna put up gaudy numbers, but I hoped with a good combine he could sneak into the bottom of the 1st. Not a very good showing, though, D. Gonna have to destroy the Pro Day.
When is LSU's Pro Day btw?

5.27 is pretty good for a 300lb player
