No one has ever questioned whether or not AJ is a good guy, and personally I don't give a shite. I care about his ability to play QB. I'm sure there are a ton of "great guys" playing football at D2/D3 schools, it doesn't mean they should be the QB at LSU.

me either. if he can settle in and start throwing good passes I think he can turn everything around. he's a competitor.

and yes, the young kids that trash him are pathetic. they are just the ones that set on the sideline and criticize.

Someone called Jennings out as "You know who 2.0" the other day and I almost gagged. And statements like this are why! AJ is and always will be a self-effacing team player. He owns up to his mistakes and shortcomings and admits he needs work. I really respect the young man and wish the best for him.

Jennings has never been the issue. And I ho he does improve. The problem has always been the HC's offensive philosophy and QB development.

I always think it's funny when people believe that Jennings can't get better.

Both Harris and Jennings are honorable young men, but Jennings would get even more respect if he simply admitted the fact that Harris deserves a shot at starting QB because he's better.

So you basically want Jennings to bow out and say "Ehh..screw it. I'm not good enough. I tried, Coach." Where do you people come from?

Jennings isn't the issue?

Mett succeeded with the same staff. The reason why the staff was more conservative in 2014 is because the QB position WAS the issue.

Jennings is a great character and a real team player. I want him to succeed and I personally do not boo players either. However if Miles insists on being stubborn and shoving that atrocious offense down our throats, I'm not going to be the least bit surprised when people voice their displeasure.

Anyone that thinks Jennings will never have the arm talent and ability to be a good SEC QB needs to look at Matt Flynn in his first couple of years. Like Jennings, he showed flashes with the deep ball. But it looked like Flynn would never have the arm strength to throw an out pass in the SEC, much less have the arm strength to even get a cup of coffee in the NFL. Flynn's legendary decisions on throwing wounded ducks to the flat that would be picked off predates Lee's legacy.

But Flynn grew into his strengths. Jennings has some talent in his arm, and has shown the ability to read the entire field every once in a while. With his attitude, I wouldn't bet against him putting it together eventually.

That's the problem I have. I just don't see the talent. Great kid, hard worker, leader, no arm.

He just has some natural limitations that hopefully he can overcome.

meh. About the only real physical limitation he has is that he doesn't have a really strong arm, but neither do a lot of good QB's. He has about average college QB arm strength. Not comparing him to Drew Brees but just for example, one of the best QB's in the NFL doesn't have great arm strength either. Obviously needs to improve his accuracy and for the 'game to slow down' for him, improve his reads, etc. Just a lot of things that many young QB's struggle with. He'll look a lot better next season if he doesn't get beats out by Harris or even if he does. Either way, QB play and play calling/scheme are going to be much improved next season.

really the offense was more on Cam, he was the OC you know. While that was part of the problem it wasn't the entire problem by any means. Recievers were young and had big issues and QB's had big issues as well. True play calling and scheme did them no favors last season, but it was far from being all on Cam/Miles.

He might embrace a backup role next year, kind of like Lee

true, I see a lot of similarities between he and Lee. Not the most physically gifted and developed in time into a fine QB who filled in nicely when the starter was out. Great attitude also. Lee grew to be a fan favorite and in time I could see Jennings being one as well. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying Jennings ceiling is as a backup.

Keep in mind last year for Alabama Blake Simms was a 5th year guy that came there as a fricking tailback that played qb in hs.

Blake sims played TB for all of 1 year throughout his entire career.

You are blind or just being retarded then. I've seen Jennings throw a few frozen ropes, and while he doesn't have a huge arm, it isn't weak either. He also has one of the best deep balls you want to see. I think we'll need to change our offense a bit to adapt to his skillset, but the guy can run. Watched the TAMU/LSU game from 2014 the other day, he took off a few times and he was scootin'. Very calm in the pocket, very confident, that is talent.

I really want him to prove everybody wrong.

I said he can... But they don't have enough faith in him to give him more plays to run.. If you can't see this you are blind....

You are the stupid one here...
