Haven't seen anyone downgrade him personally, just for his on the field play, which was subpar.

He's a great rep for LSU.

Absolutely. It's usually trashy people that do so, though, right? Losers who don't have a lot going for them such that they actually ascribe their emotional well-being and sense of self worth to the performance of amateur athletes they have never met. Those types of people deserve their own shitty, irrelevant lives.

People like Jennings who can overcome the adversity of their own fanbase irrationally criticizing them, or even threatening them, are going to be better for it. I've never been in that situation but I'd imagine it takes a special level of fortitude to be able to shoulder that burden and still give everything you have. Jennings deserves a lot of respect for the way he's carried himself so far.

said the key for him to hang on is to raise his completion percentage by not only throwing more accurately but making better decisions, such as when not to throw the ball, when to check down to another receiver and when to run.

He said confidence is not an issue. "My confidence level is always going to be high," he said. "It's not going to be 'Oh I can't play here any more, I'm going somewhere else.' That's never come into my head.

"You have to be confident to lead these guys, Vadal Alexander, Jerald Hawkins. They don't want a mouse leading them.

Love these quotes from him. They are going to compete really hard for that starting job. Hell, if Brandon Allen can get better from last year to this year with barely any WR talent, I know Jennings can do AT LEAST the same.

Allen
2013 - 128/258 (49.6%) 1552 yards (6.0 ypa) 13 TDs 10 ints RSSo

2014 - 190/339 (56%) 2285 yards (6.7 ypa) 20 TDs 5 ints RSJr

Jennings
2014 - 111/227 (48.9%) 1611 yards (7.1 ypa) 11 TDs 7 ints So

2015 - ??? Jr

I have said this all along, just not eloquently.

Losers living and basing their lives on the outcome of college sports played by teenagers.
When it doesn't go their way they lash out.
Truly pathetic.

Jennings is a class act and admirably young man.
Hope he balls out this year.

That's the biggest difference between JJ and AJ-AJ is very likable, seems humble, and realizes he's not very good. A complete 180 from JJ.

Doesn't mean he has the physical tools to ever be better than a mediocre SEC QB.

Very mature and courageous young man. Accountability is HUGE and he has it. I hope the best for him and am a fan.

That said, B Harris sounds improved and now holds himself accountable and to a higher standard. It should be interesting.

I like AJ.
He's not a thug. Has a good attitude. Says the right things you want your qb to say.
We don't need him to be great, just be avg.. Occasional good , make a few throws and don't turn the ball over.

No reason with these two players coming back we struggle at this position like we did last year.
None.

Keep in mind last year for Alabama Blake Simms was a 5th year guy that came there as a fricking tailback that played qb in hs.
AJ or BH needs to fall somewhere in the middle and well be fine.

eally liked what he had to say. Acknowledged the completion percentage problems and said he likes that people have been talking about him because it motivates him to improve. Say what you want about the kid but he's got some thick skin

Said the same thing after the outback bowl performance he had. Nothing changed, but I do like that he is acknowledging he needs improvement. He has the right attitude, but does he have it? I don't know. We'll see.

I think people were booing the coaches for leaving the kid in there when it was obviously not his night.

This sums up my feelings at QB. Instead of being pissed about QB play last year, I just accepted these guys being young, and that it would be better next year.

I mean you have the exact same 2 guys, but each has another year of experience, that has to translate to more competency at the position. AJ did just what the coaches wanted, this year he has to make that step to use his own judgement on the field. Harris needs to be more patient and let the game come to him. I think the main reason you saw so much aj last year was that it was pretty clear Harris couldn't provide any level of consistency last year.

Same exact feeling on WR. Some of our guys were a little soft (the one guy that wasnt seemed to have a bit of trouble with his routes which limited his pt), another year of training will make a huge difference there.

"A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals."

Larry Bird

If any of these players do this the sky will be the limit! They already have something to even reach this lvl. Now they have to put in the time to sharpen their skills!

Both Harris and Jennings are honorable young men, but Jennings would get even more respect if he simply admitted the fact that Harris deserves a shot at starting QB because he's better. Trying harder by Jennings will not get us 10 or more wins if he's QB. Sorry if that offends anyone but it's the truth.

My concern with Jennings is that he didn't improve last year. He was playing as bad at the end of the year as he was at the beginning. Initially you can chalk that up to inexperience but when his play is at best below average in game 13, you wonder of its not an issue of experience.
