This is, bar none, the worst thread I've read on here all year.

why?

this isn't 1960 where most people in South Louisiana didn't have air-conditioning and were more acclimatized to the heat....the first aid stations were running triage; the chief marshall for the North End Zone told me tonight that he spent the first half carrying people to the first aid stations...

because we have a conference front office run by people who only seem to think about what's good for Alabama?

because we have a conference front office that can't use a little imagination in scheduling the early part of the season? you don't have the oppressive heat during the day in either Columbia or Knoxville or Lexington....

you don't have to be J.M. Stagg or Nash Roberts to figure out that it's going to be HOT and HUMID in South Louisiana prior to 15 October....

let someone die from heatstroke and their family sue the SEC front office and CBS in a Louisiana courtroom and watch the sparks fly...

You know, LSU could just go back to sucking -- then they wouldn't have any day games on CBS.

People need to get over it.

Florida, FSU and Miami all regularly schedule day games at home.

good for them...but I'll also point out that FSU and Miami get to play some games up north as well...a lot further north than LSU normally goes...Virginia Tech in the daytime is pretty comfortable this time of year

It would be so easy to let northern teams play day games and southern teams play night games. They don't like playing at night anyway.

I think a big part of the problem is that all the people in power sit in suites. They are in a sterile environment, closed off from the environment, piped in music, heat etc. They have big TV monitors with network coverage, private restrooms, alcohol and wifi. They have no idea what the fan experience is. Oh a day game in 90+ degree heat no problem, Buffy and I can have dinner at the club.

Almost all of the games were at night while Curly Hallman was coach.

I think the LSU admin hasn't fully realized that they are now in direct competition with their beloved Network TV. Actually it's pretty funny. The SEC sold its soul to the networks at the expense of the fan experience. The fan experience now seems inadequate compared to just staying at home. Attendance numbers are going down while TAF is expanding the seating.

Yes, those pussies that passed out from heat and dehydration and were in First Aid seemed apathetic as frick to me.

They must have been pretty apathetic towards drinking water. It's not complicated. I know it's amazing to consider, but people did once live without air conditioning.

This is really sickening. It's hot? So the frick what? Take some personal responsibility and don't get drunk or hydrate before the game. Wear a hat you pussies.

Do I really need to explain this to you?

When Paul Dietzel was the coach very few (if any) college football games were televised.

By the time Curly Hallman was coaching there more televised but mostly during the day. The good teams were selected to play on TV during the day. The not so good teams were not televised and played at their normal times which for LSU was at night.

OK - here come's the hard part.

Because LSU sucked they were not on TV and got to play their games at night.

Once things started getting better, more games were scheduled for day time broadcast.

Understand now or do I need to try again?

et al.....

LSU started playing football at night for a good reason....IT'S HOT IN LOUISIANA UNTIL LATE OCTOBER...

I challenge Mr Slive, the university presidents, and the head of CBS Sports to sit in the East Upper Deck of Tiger Stadium during a day game in any September....or even until mid-October...see how much they like the experience...

No offense man, but LSU doesn't have a monopoly on hot weather in the SEC.

I know. I was there. Poor planning and should be fixed, but the OP sounds like a total pussy. You think people in Big 10 and others complain because its too cold?

I disagree. Sitting in snow or sub freezing is miserable when you can't walk around.

To each his own. I don't understand this mentality that watching football in anything but ideal weather is somehow a unique experience.
