The most down I've ever been on Les Miles was after that 43-36 win over Ole Miss last year, but I've always said that he was a great coach that LSU was lucky to have hired in 2005.

Some of the things he's done this season have pissed me off, but they aren't the types of things that make me think he's a bad coach.

BTW, a lot has changed. Crowton, clock management, co-DCs in 2008.

To say nothing has changed is bullshite.

Miles deserves every accolade in the book. His program, his leadership, my enjoyment.

I still haven't fully forgiven him for the Ole Miss and Tennessee clock debacles.

And I still think he chooses piss poor times to call timeouts.

His clock management is still somewhat suspect, IMO.

A post from December '09 would be more impressive.

No, no, no.

It's like night and day.

Every team takes an ill-advised TO here or there. Half of the NFL does this on a pretty consistent basis.

we haven't really been in much of a situation this year where the clock was against us.

Then you are irrational and don't realize how crowton was a huge part of time management issues.

Sounds like that would be a positive about miles.

You make that seem like a criticism

I never really those incidents were that big of a deal. I mean, if your offensive coordination is so bad that your team routinely is disorganized on over half of the plays during the normal parts of the game, it's sort of impossible to get things to work smoothly during those last minute pressure points.

I remember saying that I loved Miles and wanted him to stay, but only if he got rid of Mallory & Peveto.

Then I remember saying that I really loved Miles and wanted him to stay, but only if he got rid of Crowton.

What can you say? The man is an absolute master of handling long-term management of top assistants. He has built a brand based on loyalty in a cutthroat business where most people had written such loyalty off as hopelessly outdated.

Actually a lot has changed. In those previous years LSU had a lot of talent but was playing awful football. So it is normal in any sport when the team is not living up to its potential you critique the coaching. And when a team is playing real well a coach gets all the credit as Miles is getting now. This is normal.

Miles is the best representative and head coach we could have ever wished for at LSU. Has he made mistakes, yes, and he has taken care of them!

Have faith in the coach and our team! We need all the positivity we can get along with the great play of this most awesome exciting team on Jan 9th in our Super Dome.

I love how idiots come on the board and start stupid arse threads like this one and think they are the fricking bee's knees of the Rant.

Well guess what.

frick you.

Please find me a person who WASNT pissed as all fricking get out after the Ole Miss, Penn State and Tennessee(almost) debacles.
Say what you want, but when bad high school coaches know what the freaking rules are and how to manage a clock at the end of the game and here you are with a title contender and you still frick up from time to time, That is freaking EMBARRASSING.

Now, He has gotten better about it and he has coached this team out of his arse this year.

But shite, you act like people can't change and that ranters can't change their opinion.

Miles DESERVED all the heat he got after that ridiculous bullshite.

He is still one bad mutherfricking coach and I'm glad he is here and not Saban. Screw that pussy.

Agreed. Still don't like him. He is STILL the same coach and so Ole Miss or Tennessee fiasco is STILL a very good possibility.

The first section of posters who really turned hard in Miles's favor seems to have been the Recruiting Board junkies. There were huge holes in those '06 & '07 classes that most fans such as myself didn't see coming until they hit with full force, but Miles learned his lessons and started avoiding old mistakes.

I hope Mainieri learns to do the same thing. It can't be an easy adjustment to have to learn all the ins and outs of the recruiting process at a top SEC school like LSU.
