How does Beckham still have room to grow but not Juice? Give me some specifics. I feel like you're just talking out your arse

Because I feel OBJ can improve with his ball skills, where Landry's ahead of him. Where is Landry going to get better? All of shortcomings are physical. He can fill out more but he's as tall as he's going to get. He's as fast as he's going to get His ball skills are already amazing.

Jarvis had more catches and TDs than OBJ as a junior and a sophomore, so he was either open a lot, or Mett trusted him more to come down with the ball. I tend to think it was a combination of the two.

Are you saying the NFL should have deferred to Mett on which to draft first? And you do know Mett didn't necessarily throw to the open guy, right? Do you notice how many of Jarvis' catches are contested (covered)? His great skill is to catch what appeared to be a covered pass. That requires strength, concentration, great body control and great hands. OBJ great skill is in getting separation based on his superior speed and elusiveness. He also has explosive jumping ability and good hands.

The fact that Jarvis had more TDs tells us what about their abilities? What are we talking about, a total of about 5 TDs difference between the two?

Again I feel both were great at LSU. I also believe OBJ was somewhat underrated by the fan base because, as a result of his ability to get open, he conversely had fewer spectacular contested catches.

It is sort of like some tool on here claiming JHill did not get the tough yards like Hester and Ware because he was always running in the open. Huh? He is not as tough because he has off-the-charts vision, cut ability and speed to find the hole, bust through to the open and run away from the D? Geeze!

I still say OBJ makes the play when the play is there, but doesnt always create something out of nothing. Jarvis had a way of often creating something out of nothing.

That's the best way I've heard it phrased yet.

How is it even possible to arrive at that conclusion from my post?

No shite Sherlock, that's why I mentioned it was a combination of Juice being open AND Mett having more faith in him.

Everyone knows that they bring different skill sets to the table; I happen to value Landry's more. This notion that he can't get separation from a lot of pundits is absurd. He doesn't have top end speed, but he's physical and a good enough runner to get consistent separation. He's also running a lot more intermediate routes than OBJ in the meat of the defense.

That Mett preferred Jarvis, which is what my post was about. You're consistently missing the point and arguing with yourself.

And I'm not saying that OBJ isn't better because he's open and making it look easy. He's supremely gifted and a 1st round talent. I like that Jarvis can make the tough catches and loves to be physical. He's going to block, he's going to beat the press coverages, and he's going to win the 50/50 balls. I'm not so sure that OBJ has that same physicality. Landry is not going to beat a CB for a 50 yard bomb down the field, because that's just not his game. I think what he brings to the table is incredibly valuable and will result in a very long career.

his speed and hand strength and CONCENTRATION allow him to make big plays

FIFY

Something I believe he demonstrated better than anyone, Concentration. So I would pick Juice over Beckham

No, I always admired the way Jarvis played the game. So tough for a receiver. And it seemed like he was the guy we threw to when we needed a first down.
