its nothing the same. hell, we have a richer basketball tradition than Pitt. And we have deeper athletic pockets.

I think I read that his wife was from here. Anyone married knows how much influence a woman has . In addition to that hopefully LSU would step up to the plate an offer him big $$$$.

Since when is Pitt such a great basketball job?
They've certainly been better than LSU the past decade overall, but I wouldn't consider Pitt some destination basketball job.
In terms of stature, Pitt and LSU basketball programs are right about on the same level. Actually, LSU has more history/tradition than Pitt. I think they've only been to one F4 in their history.

So why is everyone believing this rumor all of a sudden? We heard hundreds of these rumors during the last week, and this one is true? I doubt it. But hopefully I'm wrong.

FWIW (and it may not be much) Lee Feinswog said in a recent interview (Moscona's show) that he knew for a FACT that in 2008 Dixon, or his people, contacted LSU about the opening. No interview was set or took place though for whatever reason. Again, take it FWIW.

Thats what I was thinking. The guy can come somewhere, where all you have to do to win the conference basicall is beat UK. Pitt is moving to the ACC and you have to get past Duke and UNC not to mention the rest of the ACC. He could come here and do very well, PLUS make more money.
