This has played out way too much in the spotlight. We better have the 15 million because the program takes an even bigger hit if Les is coaching next year. We have defaced the face of our program essentially.

Agree. But they have the 15 million.

This is more about who would be the hire.

No way they can bring les back now. Better have their guy.

If Alleva is the one who leaked these rumors after the Arkansas game, he needs to freaking go. He is the boss over there and as much as I wouldn't want him to fire Les, its his call not mine. But to decide to fire a successful coach and to do it like this is just classless. You think LSU deserves better than Les, fine but we damn sure deserve better than Joe too.

Alleva is the one who needs to be canned over how all this was handled.
If we can get Jimbo, sign him up. If not, i think we're better off waiting until next year to see who else is available. Unfortunately there's blood in the water now and most people would be disappointed if that happened.

From the outside the past two weeks have to look like a dumpster fire. Alleva has handled this incredibly poorly and if doesn't get his first choice a lot of this should land on him.

Alleva's job rides on what happens with the next hire.

No... We return a lot of guys on offense which I expect will continue to develop seeing as our offense this year was better than last.

While we may not return as much on defense (in truth no one looks good enough to go pro) the defense cant be much worse...

Plus with Bama losing probably their entire D, Miss State losing Dak, Ole Miss losing everything... Next year actually does look better than this year.

Most on here were crying we would have 2-3 losses anyway this year... When we sart 7-0 against some mediocre teams we all of a sudden think it changes and get mad because we predicted correctly?

Alleva needs to be investigated and fired immediately - he's just bad karma...

Id say Allevas job rides on how the next 6-9 weeks go. Its started very poorly. If we get embarrassed in the search, Alleva might be looking for a job as well.

Even if he didn't leak them, he didn't do anything to help stop them. He is such a prick. TBH we should be much more worried about getting rid of him than Miles.

That dumbass could have gotten the wheels in motion IN THE BACKGROUND. Gotten the feel from our top 1-2 guys ie jimbo or chip. If they were a no go then wait a year when there are much less openings and a lower buyout.

Joe is incompetent.

Doesn't matter what happens with other teams because next year will look exactly the same it has looked for the past 7 years - outdated offensive philosophy, penalties, bad QB play, running over cupcake teams, before eventually losing to Bama and going 4-4 in the SEC. It's time for a change because Les has shown that he cannot fix any of the above issues. He will win games, but not a championship the way he coaches. Let's admit it - 2007 was a fluke.

If Les stays, he reels in a good recruiting class and our record is probably the same next year. Maybe even a game better. We'd be in the same situation, but might have better options to hire. Im not seeing a homerun hire out there now besides Jimbo, and thats probably a pipe dream.

All im saying is let's not screw up this hire just because Alleva is an idiot and didnt squash this thing early, and now we have to make a change even if there's no good option. Miles for 1 more year might be the best thing for long term success.

I don't see how Les Miles being our coach next year is "taking a bigger hit."
