If Riser has eyes in his head, he should jump at the Tulane job if available.

Hammond vs New Orleans

Alumni Field vs Turchin

Regional Conference (Southland) vs National Conference (AAC)

SELU $ vs Tulane $$

But I knew he was not really that good of a coach. Totally expected him to fail at Auburn or in the SEC in general.

Brought them to their first regional in 5 years.

No offense to Tulane but Cannizaro can do better and I think a Power 5 job is where he will end up
Tulane will always be second best in LA
Why fight LSU every year if you could get a SEC job or another big time program

CAC > CPM

But we are stuck and going to lose him. He will 100% be a head coach within the next 2 years.

One would think that Cannizaro would be at the top of Tulane's list, right?

I'd think he has his sights set higher than Tulane. He could be our coach one day. Hopefully the Greenies will get Blake Dean or something.

Cannizaro has a much better résumé than Riser.

No he doesnt. Riser has taken a small school to the post season as a bonafide head coach.

I wonder what the story is with Robichaux at UL-L? Known as a top notch pitching coach and his teams are in Regionals just about every year. I know he's a homer being from Crowley but there has to be major Power 5 programs with interest.

only at LSU is the second string player, esp QB, ALWAYS better than the starter and the asst. coach ALWAYS better than the head coach. at least with some of our fans.

is the grass on the other side of the road always greener to you son?

Jake Gautreau was a TU Alum, too and was actually the interim HC and they passed on him and Chad Sutter.

I think that Matt Riser, the SLU head coach, would be at the top of their list. He played for Tulane, too, and he has proven success as a head coach.
yes, the folks in Hammond are sweating this as I type.

So his playing resume speaks for his coaching resume?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Dean was a paid Assistant. Will Davis was the volunteer assistant.

Nope. He was an undergraduate student assistant. He returned to earn his undergrad degree. LINK
