Skippers Dugout ?@SkippersDugout David Pierce we hear is close to inking a deal at Alabama. If Texas wants him they'll have to move fast.

One would think that Cannizaro would be at the top of Tulane's list, right?

Would be a bit of a reach for Tulane except that he's an ex-Tulane guy. He's been an asst for 2 years?

I think as LSU fans it's our responsibility to espouse the great works of Matt Riser.

Would Tulane think it has to hire someone without successful head coaching experience?

I think that Matt Riser, the SLU head coach, would be at the top of their list. He played for Tulane, too, and he has proven success as a head coach.

While it would suck for now, if Andy does well there he'd be a perfect PM replacement.

Will continue developing regional ties for recruiting while sharpening his teeth at a smaller program.

I see what you did here

Yeah I forgot about Riser. You would think Tulane will go after him hard.

Matt Riser is probably ahead of AC. Riser played for Tulane also and has been battle tested as a Head Coach. He's done a damn good job of turning SELU into a pretty decent program even with extremely limited resources. He's a smarter choice from that standpoint.

I would think he's on the list, but this isnt UNO. They will probably want someone with pedigree. I could see them hiring SELUs coach before Cannizaro.

A few weeks ago, I talked to a few guys I know with Tulame connections about the possibility of Pierce leaving and they all said Riser. They have been keeping an eye on him for a while but also said that Dannen has a national approach to things and will go out and look for the top candidate period...no tulane ties needed
