He’s not still living in BR. He’s living back in Chattanooga. His house in BR is still for sale.

Maybe uncertainty remains and McNeese only offer he has? Maybe he can still bring his recruits and he’s passionate about coaching and wants to maintain those relationships? I heard 2-year deal so maybe he’d prefer to coach and bet on himself and be in a stronger position in 2026? Maybe he doesn’t want to move his family? Maybe he thinks he can return to LSU?

First, he no longer lives in LA and hasn't for months. Second, I doubt he really believes there is a path back to LSU with the current AD. Wade had a good 5 years here, but it is time to move on for all. It would take some big time strong-arming the president and AD to see Wade come back to LSU. That's not happening.

Going to McNeese and being totally irrelevant would be worse for his career than sitting out. Right now, the last ON COURT view of Wade is him having consistent success at an inconsistent program at LSU. Just like McMahon's stock has completely crashed this year after being very high at the end of last season, the same would be the case for Wade at McNeese. It's a bad career move if the goal is to be a major conf. HC again.

He's trying to keep his name relevant in college basketball. He's trying to show schools he would ACTUALLY want to coach that he is an option. He's trying to do so by getting reports out that Ole Miss is interested (they aren't) and giving assurance to other programs he's "hireable" by telling them a mid-major program is willing to do so now. Wade doesn't want to go back to the mid-major ranks. He just wants to show major conf. programs he's a viable option. In short, he wants to take the same path Sean Miller did to Xavier. Whether that path is viable depends entirely on if he has confidence he will receive no or minimal sanctions from the LSU investigation.

I mean everyone loves a 4-5 hour commute to work and back. Easy Peasy with Baton Rouge traffic and going over the Atchafalaya Basin twice everyday.

I didn’t realize he wasn’t still living in BR. If he were, it would be exceptionally easy to buy a house in LC , keep your family in BR l, and be in both cities easily enough. If you could afford to do it, Wade could too.

Until Scott the smiling robot leaves, not a chance. He will never admit he made a bad decision on anything, let alone something as insignificant (in his mind) as basketball.

The bizarre and unjustified worship of a shite coach is incredible. The Wadeophiles have a strange inferiority complex - Wade justifiably gets the toss but somehow it is the fault of "society." I'm surprised they haven't demanded reparations. They act like the supporters of Teedy and her ilk, giving their vote to Wade when he has done nothing to deserve it.

Hahahahahahaha.

Johnny jones. Nuff said.

I don't hate him. I hate his sycophantic fans. They heaped praised on him as if he was the greatest coach in college basketball. He was not even close.

A coach takes actions that results in the temporary demise of LSU's basketball program. A cult of LSU basketball fans, knowing that Wade fricked up LSU basketball, ramp up their support of Wade to an even hire level.

This bizarre mental attitude got Teedy re-elected. "No matter how shitty this person is, we'll support them. No matter how much they ruin things we like (LSU basketball), he has our support."

It is lunacy.

A irrelevant red herring ... I've never said that Coach Jones was an "OG." I've never said that I want my wife to have Coach Jones' baby (as a couple of pro-Wade posts suggested). I never said that Coach Jones was "one of the greatest college basketball coaches."

With Wade, "things aren't like they used to be and never were." The Wadeophile's rose colored glasses have lenses that are two inches thick.

ETA: The actual comparison should be Wade to "the best basketball coaches in college." There is no comparison. He's simply not that good.

Still waiting on your johnny jones vs will wade comparison.

Id argue jones did more to run the program into the ground than wade.

This is a joke. In 2021, he was rated the 6th best coach in the SEC. The only ones who worship him is his sycophantic TD cult.

He'll be lucky to get a job at McNeese.
