It’s rumored Wade has a 2-year deal in place with McNeese State that will be announced after their conference tournament. Any chance for a return to LSU after 2 years there? It’s surprising to me he’s still living in BR and if he continues to coach in LA, I suspect he might keep his current residence. Any chance for reunion since Wade seems to be more passionate about the basketball team than anyone in the administration and hasn’t skipped town yet. Woody has major egg on his face after the terrible season and looks like a petulant doofus. Is a reunion possible?

Pride will get in the way. I wouldn't come back if I were Wade anyway. LSU spit in his face.

If true, and it sounds pie in the sky, I would second the emotion. Or motion. Whatever.

As long as Woodward is here no way he gets rehired although that would be the right thing to do if McMahon ultimately fails.

He’ll use Mcneese as a stepping stone job no doubt but it will not be to LSU. Why would Woodward hire a guy he fired?

Because Wade wants to return forcing the issue, the fan base is pissed at Woody after watching the self-inflicted dumpster fire for a few years and fans demand it once dust settles and nothing happens to Wade or LSU?

I’d be very surprised if Wade goes to McNeese. Seems like a school like Ole Miss would hire him in a second. But if he does go to McNeese it means no AD wants anything to do with him right now either and kinda validates Woodward’s actions.

Until his first year that he DOES NOT win the sec and get to a final four.

The board will hate him too.

I think Ole Miss has made a statement they have not been in contact with Wade, but there’s smoke around McNeese State and Wade but who knows if that’s true or not.

The bizarre and unjustified worship of a shite coach is incredible. The Wadeophiles have a strange inferiority complex - Wade justifiably gets the toss but somehow it is the fault of "society." I'm surprised they haven't demanded reparations. They act like the supporters of Teedy and her ilk, giving their vote to Wade when he has done nothing to deserve it.

ETA: And, like the Teedy voters, after he fricked up the program these fans supposedly follow, they heap even more support on Wade.

I don't see Wade coming back. It is obvious there is a lot to the story of Wade's termination that is in the interest of both sides (LSU and Wad) to keep confidential.

I'm sure Woodward is already looking ahead to hire the next equivalent of Kelly, Mulkey, or Johnson for his next MBB coach. He probably couldn't pull that off in the time period with all of the clouds around the program. If/when McMahon fails, he'll have more time and those clouds will have at least dissipated a little.

It's not part of his makeup to go after compromised coaches, especially ones who likely lied to him.

Where is this rumor?

If Wade is going to be eligible to coach next season then why in the hell would he waste his time going to McNeese? There will be MANY more, much better, opportunities available (both at the mid-major and major conf level) than McNeese. That would be a career setback...not a stepping stone. Wade could just take the Sean Miller route. Fired by Arizona amidst an ongoing investigation, then hired by Xavier once he was able to provide assurance he was not going to have sanctions (show cause) follow him to a new school.

If, IF, Wade is going to McNeese it would ONLY be because he knows there will be sanctions that follow him and McNeese is the ONLY place that will hire him. Otherwise, going there makes absolutely zero sense for him...which is why I think these "rumors" are BS.

Good Luck to WW wherever he ends up at. Hopefully the school knows the NCAA will have him under a microscope though
