Oh I definitely will do that. I do a lot of recruiting stuff as well, if you go look at the Recruiting Board, you will see me there a lot, and will be in JerryWorld on Monday for those 4 great high school games.

I just have a passion for college sports and a larger passion for LSU, Ohio State, and yes Texas A&M as well

I agree! This will help me sleep better.

The out of bounds hit I'll attribute to young and dumb. #57 is a redshirt freshman. NOT excusing the hit, and he should know better and learn from the mistake.

I guess I'm bumping my own thread here, but I'm not trying to blow my own horn here. I just feel like what me and my friend saw, as well as the contributions from others in this thread have made it a great one

I have to add my thanks for this post as well, Aggie. Please post your friend's opinions as often as you can, it is refreshing to read observations from someone that knows football.

Solid post. But I don't think all of those teams would have lost to NC tonight.

I agree. Finish the job, there is nothing wrong with winning by 40 points or more. This is not little league. This is the SEC. HEll, at least score once in the last 30 minutes.

I agree. Great post.

Watching the game with a former player/and or coach is eye opening to say the least. Watching with a professional scout would be very informative.

All the speculation aside, this is THE most critical decision that must be made.

Peterson just flat out can't do it all - at least not at 100% - for both halves. No man can. Those afterburner burst of energy on the returns, were phenomenal...they take a toll.

I dont know whether one of the young backs can step up, so Pat can remain in the return game, but for every return me makes, the opposing offense will come out and march down the field. 412 yards, have the competition licking its chops. Hope Chavis can figure it out...the talent is there.

Chavis is not a real good def. of coach....I thk there is just alot of talent on D....many coaches could do well w/ LSUs playrs.....

Yet, in the second half, that disappeared because we let off that accelerator. And when we finally did in the 2nd half, we were blitzing Peterson, which caused that last TD to happen

For the love of god this. NC's first 4 series we have LB's near the line, blitzing dropping bacd, BUT MOVING. DB's were in press that entire time, and Yates never had enough time to even consider a 2nd option.

2nd half and the 7 yard cushion returns. The young, outside LB's are asked to drop into zone, and the slide begins. Slant, slant, slant, shallow out, slant, slant, corner route for TD, double move, slant, slant, shallow out

I didn't see inside postion played once in that 2nd half. Even the final play.

LSU lost the T.O.P. by 10 minutes again last night. The reasons are obvious but still very alarming. Chavis is religious about reading flow rather than dictating pressure. I think the bend but not break philosophy only works when the offense can sustain drives. Our offense scores in burst, often with a big play or short drives that continue to put the defense on the field for an extended amount of time. What's happening is we are fading towards the end of the game because we are still only managing just over 300 yards total offense.

Of course this is not the whole story. After the first long reception when NC stalled inside the 10, LSU dodged a bullet when the fullback dropped a pass in the flats. My point is we are in Cover 2 down on goalline and CB does not have the time to jump #2 receiver in flats (that's why he was so open). This is a play you run everyday against defense. It's so basic it's scary. The wisdom of zone by the goalline is what I question? We are scared to challenge WR in man because Chavis is so risk averse. It's just become so frustrating to watch Bama and every other school play young kids in man but we act like we have lesser athletes at DB.
