Texas, Florida, USC, Oklahoma, and Penn State all would have lost to even this UNC team, if they played them tonight. How? Every team he listed played equally as bad, or even worse than LSU did tonight.

I'm REALLY glad that you guys are enjoying this as much as you are. I figured on a Saturday night this late, you wouldn't want to be bothered with such a long read. I'll do this for every LSU game on television, as I live in Dallas currently.

If I suggest one thing, find a scout or former scout, and become friends with them. I've learned SO much from this guy (I won't give out his name just because I don't think he would want that kind of attention) and you see sports in a totally different light than what you normally watch

pretty dead on... I will however disagree on the statement about Peterson returning punts. He should still return punts, but needs to split more with Randle. I think we got a bit greedy in the second half looking for the record when he should have been off of special teams at that point.

I loved seeing Peterson in the return game. However, while he helped win this game for us, if he keeps doing it, I feel like it's going to hurt us in the long run. Our defense suffered without him on the field. Maybe go with what Joe Christopher said (I don't think the record was what got us greedy, I doubt he knew about it)and not let him return as much as he did. He's not used to running that much and as much training as you can in the off-season doesn't compare to being in pads and doing it on the actual field.

I think Murphy can be good, if you use him like we did Shep in the backfield. We ran Murphy like he's in the build of Ridley. In no way is Murphy a bruiser, and he needs to be an outside runner and pass catcher out the backfield

Chavis runs two defenses, and you would think he would learn. His redzone defense is phenomenal, but he fails to implement it into every down. The other 80 yards of the field, he uses a bend but don't break system, which allowed Claiborne to get burnt twice by double moves. When you play your cornerbacks 10+ yards off the LOS, teams are able to kill you short, and then catch you off-guard with the double moves for big games.

this is FAR AND AWAY, the NUMBER ONE PROBLEM on this team right now. that soft fricking zone ruins EVERYTHING.

our offense ran 771 plays last year. our D ran 910 plays. YOU CANT SCORE POINTS IF YOURE NEVER ON THE GOD DAMN FIELD.

that fricking soft zone, with its 10-15 yard cushions, very obviously doesn't fricking work, it keeps the D on the field until they either make a mistake and give up a TD or until the other team makes it down to the 15 and gets turned away.

but mostly this keeps our Offense off the field, meaning it can never get into a rhythm, it never has an opportunity to do anything.

if Miles doesn't reign the chief in and kill that fricking soft zone, hes gonna get his arse fired.

Just to remind you guys as well (maybe help some sleep better, who knows), Florida only had TWENTY SIX yards of total offense after 3 quarters of play to Miami Ohio. They had 8 fumbles,3 lost, and had to rely on 4 interceptions against a very weak offense to win. UNC, with the team that they had tonight, would have beat them by about 28 at least

Thanks for the analysis. The thing that concerns me most is the mental errors. We allowed a touchdown (roughing the kicker plus hit out of bounds) and had one recalled (Hebert hold). Also, I hope I never see LSU run the option again.

Can we get the scout to be the coach or at least coach's consultant?

And it worked when we did it. Nothing works better on a weak offense than pressure on the QB. Yet, in the second half, that disappeared because we let off that accelerator. And when we finally did in the 2nd half, we were blitzing Peterson, which caused that last TD to happen
