Your thoughts? Remove all of the emotion, the 'you're a hater' comments, the negatiger labeling, and the irrational discussion of Lee over Jefferson, and the let's get rid of Miles speculation... (which is not going to happen anyway), and just deal with the bare facts.

Is LSU football fun anymore? Has Les Miles sucked all of the life out of the LSU football team and the fanbase? Does his milquetoast, mid-western blockhead style and approach to football ruin the experience for the passionate LSU fan?

I think it's a legitimate question. Obviously, I believe it does. Without the flaming, name calling and sarcasm (hard for me to do I know, lol). Let's look at it rationally. Who has had fun watching/being at an LSU game this year? To be fair, here are a few examples of where it was somewhat fun...

Fun.

-UGA.. defense was badass, close game but exciting and fun, LSU reached deep down and won against a team that it hasn't beat in a long time and got some revenge.
-Tulane... I was there and it was fun, lots of scoring and defense shut the Greenies down.
-Auburn...Tigers came out and played their brand of football and won against a big rival.

Not fun.

-Washington...letting a horrid Pac-10 nobody run up 400 yards of offense on us.
-Vandy...not opening up the offense, and scoring few points against a weak sister in a lame effort.
-ULL...unbelievable, this game should have been an arse raping, yet we let them hand around for too long and look lethargic.
-Moo St....having to rely on two miracle plays to beat an outmanned and sorry arse team that has been irrelevant in the SEC since 1995.
-Florida...losing was understandable, looking like you have a high school offense was not.
-Alabama...solid effort for a few quarters, then more bungling, lack of preparation and attention to detail, and poor coaching leave a bad taste. Again, losing is not the issue, looking like you don't know what you're doing under pressure is.
-La Tech...doesn't need an explanation. Probably the worst showing in Tiger Stadium by an LSU team since the Curley Hallman years. A complete clusterfrick and a stain on the Les Miles tenure.

Conclusion: The last 2 years of Les Miles at LSU has sucked the oxygen out of the room. LSU football is no longer fun.

Your thoughts?

I concur. I turned off the LaTech game after the first quarter, and got hammered drunk.

it's kind of rope a dope football. we don't aggressively attack anyone. we just kind of hang around and let our talent eventually win, or not.

it's not fun. I try to give the staff the benefit of the doubt, that they have to bring players along, but when you see what other teams are able to do - it sucks.

Let me first say that I am not of the type that is saying that LSU is in a downward trend. I still support Miles, and I think that the team will be in position to win the West next season. However, I must say that LSU football has not been very fun to watch over the last 2 seasons.

It seems that the team never plays angry. They show up, do work, go home.

I recall a game in 2002, coached by our Lord and Savior Nick Saban, where LSU was shut out by Alabama 31-0. Pretty sure that was post-Hallman. Also, there was a loss to UAB in that time span as well. But you're right, winning a tough game at home after a heartbreaking loss is worse than all that stuff. Oh, and I'm pretty sure Mississippis State won the West in 1998, so you are again mistaken there.

Most fans' definition of "fun" has changed due to our recent success. People expect so much more now that we experienced the great run our program has been on for the past 9 or so years to the point where we can't enjoy anything than winning every game by a large point margin.

Its obvious winning is great...........but here at LSU DOMINANCE is fun.

I remember once years ago LSU scored 49pts against Tech in the first half!! 28 of those pts were in the first quarter alone!

Then of course mercy had to be granted.

THAT was fun. It was fun talking about how were among the elite. Fun talking about how we could be in the Rose or Orange or Sugar Bowl fighting for a national championship. THAT was fun.

Right now......winning is ok......but DOMINANCE is fun.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. The last 2 years have not been very enjoyable to watch. I will always support my tigers, Chavis has been a big help, but watching this horrid offense under Crowton has been hard to take.

I think you are asking this question because our offense is ranked 107th.

I have a great time watching LSU football. Too damn much I guess. Got booted from the stadium for having too much fun, that and high fiving a drink out of my friend's hand. No idea WTF I was so happy about.

Yes it is fun because I am a fan of my team. It was fun when we won the BCS and fun when we were 4-7.

Those of you born in the late 80's and early 90's (all current LSU undergrads) have a hard time with perspective since we've been good most of your watching years. Although I'd never want this to happen, it'd probably be good for us to have a few really down years (last year was only down compared to our recent standards and this is NOT a down year. We are ranked in the top 10 for frick's sake) so a lot of people on this board would STFU and enjoy rooting for their team like they should.

I remember when going to the Independence Bowl was a huge deal for us. I loved the Tigers then and I love them now. And, yes, it is a hell of a lot of fun.

This question was raised 4-5 weeks ago. The offense is so incompetent many feel the entertainment value of LSU football has diminished greatly. Put it this way, who wants to travel roundtrip 1,000 + miles from ATL to view it in person? Not me.

LSU football is downright boring, and has been for the last two years.

it has become rather embarrassing.

to answer your question, no. miles has drained this thing for all it's worth.

If LSU football is no longer fun, call yourself a BANDWAGON FAN. Simple as that. Get off the bus, LSU doesn't need fans like you.

Chicken, you hit the nail on the head. Hard to have a lot to cheer about when our offense has been so anemic the past 2 years. The lack of continuity in play-calling by Crowton (with Miles' blessing) is what "kills" any crowd excitement.

That being said, I hate the fact that our fanbase has grown in arrogance that would rival such prima donna fanbases as the Oklahoma Sooner fans. They went thru roughly 10 years of pain before Stoops took them to a NC in 2000. Since then, most "rational" OU fans (and there aren't that many)expect 50+ pt. wins each game - no respect for the opponent. They will also tell you that much of the "fun" has gone because of those high (and many times unreasonable)expectations.
