Watching and listening to the local call for Tennessee baseball game. Female color commentator is dreadful.

I love you Doug.

I don’t mind Doug, except that he always sounds like he can’t wait for the game to be over. Always acts like he’s got somewhere better to be.

I found a new appreciation for him with the call on Tommy White's HR against Wake Forest.

For a good bit there, he couldn't have cared less about his actual job and the fandom came through. I'm pretty sure 90% of us all basically did the exact same thing he did in reaction! Add in dropping an audible f bomb later on, and the 2023 CWS might always be his shining moment in sports commentating.

I bet she's heard of the Norse.

His commentating relative to that lady does not make him good. He’s not good.

A truly authentic moment - he ran out of the box and ran back in. He was a dog on the mound and is rough as an announcer and I appreciate that. Totally true, IMO

I get that he didn't know that the mascot was " The Norse." I mean nobody knows what that school's mascot is.

But he admitted he had never even heard of the word "Norse" before. Like ever.

Thor? Odin? Valhalla? The religion of the Vikings? Norse mythology? Nope. Doug admitted that somehow "Norse" has escaped his ears for over 40 years. Despite being a history major for his first year in college.

It reminds me of that interview with Jeremy Pruitt when he had never heard the word 'asparagus".
