Not sure who the frick occum is but I fixed it for you. It would still take into account all of the knows facts such as: the quotes from the players expecting Lee to go in, Lee looking like he expected to go into the game any second and the pissed off looks on the players during the game.

Miles' decision makes absolutely no fricking sense to anyone but Miles (and some rantards).

I don't want Miles fired, and haven't called for it. I haven't even got into the whole JJ vs JL thing, because my only questions pertain to game plan, play calling, adjustments & baffling decisions. I know these will never be answered, so it's futile to even post them, but I'm a curious person.

Play calling in the 4th, especially to start the 4th. What was that all about? Why was there no sense of urgency? The FB dive...seriously, WTF? Why weren't we throwing the kitchen sink at this point? This is the BCSNCG, there's literally nothing after this.

Now on to the punts. I can give the punt @13:00 a pass, down by 2 scores, D has played reasonably well, but what about the punt @ 2:58? Was he essentially waving the white flag? Did he start waving it to start the 4th? I understand if he didn't think either QB could be successful, but don't you at least have to try? If he hadn't conceded defeat in the 4th, was he doing what has been described as "damage control"? Didn't want the score to get too bad?

I think these are all reasonable questions. And before some superfan posts it, yes, I know Miles doesn't owe me anything. So save your schtick.

This is debating whether or not he SHOULD have played him, which I don't give a flying rat's arse about on Wednesday January 11th. We ain't turning back time, so there's no point.

My issue is the desire some here have to turn this into something other than a coaching decision. Earlier someone had laid out a hypothetical that had Lee going off on Miles after being pulled on Nov 5th and THAT was a potential reason for why he hadn't seen the field much since. There is no evidence for any of that...none.

All we have is a coach who reinstated his starting QB from the previous 2 seasons into the lineup when he felt he had to and stuck with him...rightfully or wrongly. question Miles' ability to assess talent all you want...but to call it anything but a coaching decision is asinine.

The simpler answer is always the most likely...

I assume you are a rocket scientist. If a middle school science teacher demanded that you explain yourself about your professional decisions, how would you respond?

?"We needed a guy who could move his feet and not sustain the pass rush." Really?
Please explain in detail.
“So I don’t know that the adjustments we made since Nov. 5 were the right ones.”
If there were any adjustments made, I failed to see one.
Please quantify.

NO ONE WITH ANY REASONABLE SENSE OF INTELLIGENCE BELIEVES THAT MILES PLAYED JJ OVER LEE IN THE 4TH QTR BECAUSE HE FELT JJ WOULD DO BETTER THAN LEE.

It is impossible??
I(even though I don't agree)can certainly come up with reason to think Lee would be worse.
What if the coach has watched Lee perform horribly for years in a situation where there was intense pressure in the pocket with minimal blitzing, thus leaving men in coverage? What if that was a given over 4 years of practices? In that case I could see him sticking with a bad performance over the possibility of a worse one.

Now I have no idea if that was the case, but I do know that this was indeed what Bama's defense was doing.

Bottom line, the idea that it is IMPOSSIBLE that this was a player evaluation decision is indefensible.

It is much more impossible to believe that Miles risked all the money, prestige, job security, and the chance to reach the pinnacle of his profession in order to thumb his nose at a 22 year old kid. THAT is a freakin stupid idea!!

There is about a .00001 percent chance, so the chances are finite, but silly to assert. And, see 2010 Florida, Bama and Tenn for your case, although Bama might have produced a blitz, maybe not.

you are ignoring that the reason for such a fierce rush was simply that JJs passing attack was not feared. Saban knew that at the slightest sign of trouble, he would run.

the opposite would be true of JL, Saban would likely have to respect the pass first, thus possibly alleviating some of the pressure at the line.

your "what if" is wrong.
I remember JL pulling a few victories where JJ was/had failed.

we are not discussing his overall record, as convenient as that may be for you to defend Miles.

It is the ALABAMA game that is being discussed.

But you don't have any information from LSU or specifically from Les Miles. Great. Move along sir. Your "information" comes from nothing that has anything to do with LSU football or Les Miles. Sounds like this "information" has reverberated from the inner walls of your sphincter as your head is clearly inside your a-hole.

Link? Or is that just your opinion?

5 years from now you will probably see every 2011 Bama defensive starter on an NFL roster. Brandon Taylor, Karnell Hatcher and Ryan Baker may have played their last football game.

Richardson and Lacy are both arguably better than any of LSU's 4 RBS, McCarron is better than either of LSU's QB's and Bama's OL is much more talented than LSU's.

We'll never know what he listens to or exposed to. He is protected, and his philosophy is to not pay attention to his critics. He effectively has no real accountability due to his recruiting prowess. Maybe that is ok with most.

Miles gets to make the decisions whether I like them or not and he owes me no explanation as to why. We don't know every reason he makes decisions and he doesn't tell all. He's sort of a private coach. I don't necessarily like that because I have questions like a lot of folks, but all these letters, memos, pleas and criticism are just stupid. He's not going to react to the fickle fan base especially after all the booing and other antics the LSU fans have displayed.

Fans seem to think Les should care about whether we respect him or like him. Well, he doesn't and I'm damn glad he doesn't care what some of the fools on this board think about him. It's highly doubtful that money is suddenly going to stop coming into the program because of a 13-1 season and play in the BSCNG. It was a great season until the end. Best season ever.

The game is over. Move on. Get a life. Look forward to the Spring game. Hate him if you want. Love him if you want. Boycott the games if you want. He's like the Honey Badger. He does what he wants and he don't care. I wouldn't either after the past several years of crap from our fans. There's not a damn thing a bunch of idiots can do about it.

When Miles looks back on this game he will see that he was sandbagged by his own hubris. He seemed to believe that the ship would eventually right itself just as it did in the Arkansas and Georgia games. It was a flawed coaching strategy, overcome in the prior two games by athletic talent and momentum changing plays (on the other side of the ball). It's like the pilot who flies into the side of a mountain because he sees an illusion and doesn't trust his instruments. Unfortunately a painful lesson, not only for the pilot, but everyone else on the plane.
