Skyler played one year under Les, but it wasn't a very productive season (2005)

ESPN also explains the LaFell pick in the article:

quote:

Receiver was an even more difficult position to evaluate. Wideouts such as Dwayne Bowe, Early Doucet and Rueben Randle all belong on the list, but we went with Jarvis Landry, whose 2013 (77 catches, 1,193 yards, 10 TDs) was the best single-season effort in the Miles era, and Brandon LaFell, a two-time All-SEC pick who is LSU's career receiving leader (2,517 yards) under Miles. We added Odell Beckham Jr. as an all-purpose player thanks in large part to a standout 2013 season (59 catches, 1,152 yards, eight TDs) when he won the Paul Hornung Award as the nation’s most versatile player and ranked second nationally in all-purpose yardage (178.1 yards per game).

It would be interesting to see another school beat this. Bama obviously, maybe Florida and auburn.

QB: LSU and not close
RB: even or slightly Bama
WR: LSU by a mile plus the distance from here to Neptune
TE: even because I don't know much about Bama TE
OL: Bama by a decent amount
DL: LSU by more than a decent amount
LB: Bama by a monsoon and landslide, and every natural disaster reference
S: LSU even though Bama has picked up steam recently
CB: LSU and not close

I think I'd give the edge to Bama on this one...

Charles Scott
Jacob Hester
Steven Ridley
Jeremy Hill

Mark Ingram (Heisman)
Trent Richardson (Doak Walker winner)
Eddie Lacy
TJ Yeldon

No Chad Jones? GTFO

This was my first reaction as well, but how can you justify putting him over Laron Landry or Eric Reid? I guess you could put him at nickel, but over the Honey Badger?

Safety is probably our most stacked position of the last decade

We should win this just based off of the TE getting the ball ripped out of his hands by Eric Reid in the endzone

I like Randle better than both.

Jeremy Hill is the best RB in that group. I would put the other three behind Richardson, Lacy, and Yeldon though. I'd put Addai higher than Yeldon.

But yeah you are right.

What's funny about that? Montgomery was definitely a better DE than Mingo, led in sacks his final two years and as a back up playing in only five games before injury, he had 2 sacks, 6.0 tackles for loss, and 18 tackles. As a backup!

He was 5th on the team in TFL as a RS freshman, and he only played 5 games! He was not the starter either.

In less than 2 and a half years, he had 19 sacks and 33.5 TFL

No doubt that Bama backs are better, but you did leave off the only RB Miles had drafted in the first round.

Yea for sure, if I had to rank them based off their college careers alone I'd go

Trent Richardson/Jeremy Hill
Eddy Lacy
Mark Ingram
Joseph Addai
Steven Ridley
TJ Yeldon
Jacob Hester
Charles Scott

I added Addai also

But all these guys are great college players

He isn't close to the best punt returner we have had in the past 10 years though. There are probably 4-5 PR better than him
