So you think that LSU has an advantage over Notre Dame, BAMA and USC in recruiting? Seriously???

Wait, you don't think that USC, Bama, Florida, Texas, and Miami have recruiting bases as good as LSU? Are you retarded? California, Texas, and Florida have huge talent wells, the per capita doesn't matter when you can just choose the best 25 out of the 100 talented players.

This is a huge problem with our fanbase, in my opinion. We believe we are so much more talented than any other team, even though we are equal in talent to teams like Bama, Florida, and Georgia. The talent gap isn't nearly as big as you think.

LSU has "played" in 4 NC games in its entire history....Miles has been in 2 of them and these idiots want him gone. It's baffling.

Today has been very illuminating. It confirmed a long held suspicion: that there is a rampant inferiority complex ravaging the hearts of many LSU fans. Prominentwon claims that LSU can't become a dynasty, only Florida and Bama. He and Choctaw practically stumble over one another in their eagerness to insist that we be happy with our predestined role as second best program in the SEC West. After all, that's what we deserve. And then we have rafts of posters who believe that LSU won't be able to replace Miles and is somehow ordained to fall back into mediocrity. No faith in the inherent strength of the program, no sense of LSU's intrinsic allure and advantages.

I thought ten years of success might purge the catastrophe syndrome Tigers from our ranks. But here they are, masquerading as ardent supporters, scared as ever, certain as ever that LSU is going to stumble, that LSU can never be dominant. Vagitigers.

Really sad.

There is just too much stupid in this post. You literally created in your mind everything that you just railed against. You decide that people who realize that success into infinity is impossible for any team have catastrophe syndrome and an inferiority complex. You make absolutely no sense, and your post reeks of someone who is so sure of themselves, it's fricking pathetic. Reading your moronic ramblings actually annoys me, not because of your oblivious opinions, but because you look down your nose at people who are making so much more sense than you.

to clarify..i just copied the whole statement. But I think Bama and USC have simialr recruiting situations. If you cant win there you are not a good coach. All the other schools have a bunch of players but also have at leats one other and usually more than one good program in the area.

If you think that 2 SEC titles in the past 8 years is a good result given where this program is and was talent-wise, facilities, money, etc, then you have revised your expectations downward from what they were when Miles was hired.
Miles has been great in a number of ways, but we don't know what another coach could have done, and he has not met the expectations that were prevalent in 2005.

He's a coach with a great record.

No coach is irreplaceable.

Anyone wanting to jump from a coach with a great record to a coaching search in hopes of replacing a coach with a great record is a fool.

The sad thing is, there are so many ULL idiots who actually believe that. I hear it every time that I go back home to Lafayette. RC fans employ pretzel logic like no other fanbase. Fuggem

Anytme LSU signs a kid from outside LA or Texas you know they are a stud bc of how talent rich our situation is.

Yeah in theory it's unchallenged. But all we have to do is look back to the 90s to realize that a less-than-astute recruiter will leave the doors open and Florida, Texas, and Alabama (Nick Saban is in Louisiana all the time) will take a piece of the action. The talent is Louisiana is rich but it's not plentiful, there's not enough of it. There's a difference.

USC and Miami definitely have huge advantages recruiting over Louisiana. There's more people in Metro Miami or Metro L.A. than in Louisiana total. You don't think that's an advantage? We may have an advantage as far as percentage of NFL players produced but California/Texas still lead in absolute numbers. It's easier to win in Miami and USC and coaches still foul it up. It's naive to think that couldn't happen here with the wrong hire.

Pumpers have been extremely antsy lately.

LSU's bowl prospects, and the likelihood of a Chicken Nugget Bowl berth, has taken some of the wind out of their 10-2 sails for this season.

So what do you think about 1 SEC title in 5 or 6 years ? About the same right ? Saban says hi.

Do it. Time line is the same. Bama sure has the facilities, the money and the talent over this period. This is the toughest conference in all of football in one of the most competitive era's ever for the sport. You do realize that if January's game had a different result, he is equal to Saban in crystal balls and better in head to head. Just ONE game. You guys act like the man has ruined the program when it's inherently better than ever !
